Yikes: Net-Casting Spider Catching Prey In Slow Motion

WARNING: If the title didn’t tip you off this post is spider related and must be stayed clear of if you have arachnophobia, are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant.
This is a video presentation from the BBC of a net-casting spider catching a dinner. Net-casting spiders spin an internet, then hold it between their hands (legs) and lunge at a pest with it to trap them. It’s very cool to enjoy provided spiders do not truly trouble you. Luckily, spiders recognize far better than to mess with me. Whenever I discover one on the wall I consistently shriek then smash it with a shoe and leave it’s splattered body there as a warning to the rest of them. “Undesirable” my property owner once called it.
Hit the jump for a SUPER CRAPPY version of the online video some jackass hand-filmed off his monitor like a spaz, however you must truly head over to the BBC post to enjoy the thing in decent quality.
