The letter indexing found on the Windows Phone 7 is called a “jump list”, and is now active in both the apps list and the contacts list — and I find it very useful. You can touch any “letter” heading to bring up an alphabet list that allows you to quickly jump to the apps or contacts that start with that letter. This is so much faster than flicking up and down looking for a particular app or contact.
