Windows Phone 7 Series: Multitasking Behavior
Windows Phone 7 Series is not supposed to multitask with third-party apps…if that is the case, why were we able to get that to happen in the emulator.

@donthehonk
I’m planning on it. Right now I have a Blackberry and I hate it. I want the new HTC Supersonic that’s supposed to release in a couple dayus
Supposedly MS eliminated Multitasking
for better Battery life.
Why not just let the user decide?
Are they afraid that the users are too stupid to turn off background apps?
Why not just improve the task manager??
(Or download one)
definitely netflix on the go that’s awesome I’m just hoping htc makes a good winpho7 phone I will only buy htc all the other manufacturers have no creativity in making phone they’re so bland and ugly….only thing samsung has going for it is the amoled screens but the phones are so ughhhhhghg
because it worked for apple why wouldnt it for microsoft
@roggelmagic
come with me and join the android party!
i freaking love pocketnowvideo! make vids like every hour guy!! especially on the touch diamond
The only difference between winmo7 and iphone is that apple goes onward and microsoft backwards…… (notice that winmo7 wont even have copy-paste function) Apple tries to improve its products and microsoft to worsen them… btw iam taking android which in my opinion is the best…

omg this looks like the iphone if they do this am just getting an iphone. or stay with android sorry
Multitasking in WP7 interesting
It was my interpretation that system processes like hubs and the application list were still accessible, it was user processes (apps) that couldn’t be multi-tasked.
For example, open that video like you did, then try and install another user application side by side and attempt to launch it. I think this scenario should fail.
I think Microsoft still wanted users to reach system processes to read notifications, check start for updates etc while having an app running.
@VirtRampage hi and now there whil not be update for hd2 comfirmd by ms
will i be able to install this OS on my HD2?
I had a video going on my iPhone and I left the app and it was still going. I enabled auto-backgrounder for most of the non-game apps I have. I had to go and disable the process. Not a coincidence.
I think it’s a matter of time.
At least I hope so, because otherwise I’m damn excited about this mobile OS.
Microsoft is sooo dumb on this one, multitasking is the fact why I chose WM instead of an iPhone, if they remove multitasking from their device’s their marketshare will drop even more…
Yes, I think so!
1/6 of the screen on the emulator is also missing when you open the video. i guess the multi tasking feature, although its good in other ways, is a serious battery drainer.
@DennIsC00L I agree fully! Everyone in the smartphone industry makes a jab here and there on the glaring omissions (or previous ones) that the iPhone had. Now Microsoft wants to do the same freaking thing??? Jeez…
winpho7 is looking good but no copy and paste no multi task they just pulled an iphone why?????????????????????/
Great, no multitasking.. so Windows Phone 8 will probably not support MMS, SMS or E-mails.. stuff I had on a Symbian based nokia 7 years ago.

I can’t seem to launch the emulator =[
