I was going to say how ugly it was until I realized it was stuff into a closet! Very nice use of space.
A little side story – while in college I had a corner room in our dorm which was half the size of a regular dorm room. To save space I put my desk in the common area and stuck the computer in the closet on a shelf.
The year was 1999 (hardly anyone had laptops yet) and my monitor was a 22″ fixed-frequency monitor that cost $1000 a few years prior and weighed around 100 pounds. Needless to say, there was no room for my clothes.

I love all the wires-hidden-behind-walls spaces I have seen on this site, but what happens when you want to upgrade your monitor, or move the printer to a different place, or the internet goes down and you need to find out if mice have chewed through the cable? My mess of wires and cables is an eyesore, but there’s something reassuring about being able to see them.

Must be a hassle to use the printer, especially scanning something or changing an ink cartridge.
Leave alone getting to the shredder…

Wow, that’s fantastic – and definitely gives me some ideas. It’s funny how in America we’re always looking for more space, yet things like this prove – the space is there to be found if we just think a little outside the box.
Definitely a cool solution. Also, wondering, has anyone found an elegant solution to placing a desk in a family room? I’m considering getting a iMac for the kids to replace the hand-me-down Dell laptop I gave them, and it would be nice to have it in the family room so that any family member can use it. iMac, of course, I thought of because I could go all wireless with it (only wire, of course, would be power) and they love Macs (well, so do I).
I thought of finishing a piece of oak similar to other furniture in the family room, then mounting it directly to the wall with a couple similarly-designed shelves above it.
Ideas?

Looks awesome! I have a huge dedicated computer room, but this makes me want to NOT have room, and actually want to have to use a closet. That’s how nicely you’ve done here. Love it

That’s a nice transformation. But the monitor is kinda small I’d say. There’s enough space for a bigger primary screen, say 22″ or so.
Other then that, looks nice.
I’m wondering how the system is staying cool enough though… just one exhaust is not too much I’d think. Is there an air-intake as well maybe?

that office is just begging for a widescreen 22 inch monitor.
