The leaking wellhead is at more than 5000 feet
The leak is a mile down, and I don’t believe anybody, including Navy Seals can dive that deep due to the pressure, but I don’t know a lot about it. Plus, they are trying to use civilian means, not the military if possible. This is BP and Transocean or whatever the company that owns the rig is called, it’s their doing.
The leak is 5,000 ft below the surface, humans can’t stand that kind of pressure, a robot is needed.
