A description of the Cockroach Controlled Mobile Robot, by Garnet Hertz: “Cockroach Controlled Mobile Robot” is an experimental mechanism that uses a living Madagascan hissing cockroach atop a modified trackball to control a three-wheeled robot. If the cockroach moves left, the robot moves left. Infrared sensors also provide navigation feedback to the cockroach, striving to create a pseudo-intelligent system with the cockroach as the CPU

One of the most well-known conceptual art pieces was Fountain (1917) by Marcel Duchamp. Duchamp submitted a very common urinal basin signed with “R. Mutt 1917″ to an exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists in New York claiming it as an artistic piece.
It is not built to solve a particular engineering problem or to create a scientific model of a particular tendency. It is not an answer to a problem, but a project to inspire questions. The type of questions that people must ask before starting out a ground breaking engineering project, a new scientific model or even a new artistic movement.
