This is a series of Hyrulian banknotes as imagined by DeviantARTist G33k1nd159153. It’s a clever concept, but I’d still prefer to carry around a wallet of actual rupees. They’re like jewels, and who doesn’t want to walk around with a pouch full of jewels? Plus you can find them in bushes and pots. If I was smashing pots and found paper money I don’t even know if I’d want it.

Thanks to Grover, who suspects that jerk Ingo at Lon Lon Ranch is counterfeiting rupees out of plastic.

I Went To Chuck E Cheese: Parents Build Animated Zelda ‘Skyward Sword’ Cake For Daughter’s 10th Birthday

This is the animated Skyward Sword themed cake Kotaku reader Will Turnbow and his wife made for their daughter’s (no word what her name is, so we’ll just call her Lucky) 10th birthday party. It has a bunch of animated characters that move around and make me all jealous of a child (which seems to be a growing trend).

Based on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the cake includes Skyloft, the Sealed Grounds, the Faron Woods, and a ton of characters and other intricate details from the game.

“The Temple entrance is 6 batches of Rice Krispies and the backside of the temple is 9 cakes stacked as high as we could make it,” Turnbow writes on his YouTube video’s description. “The small tower on either side are styrofoam wrapped with fondant. My wife made and painted all of the characters out of clay except for Link (I was able to use my Figma Link).”

Mmmm, count me in for one of those fondant-wrapped styrofoam towers. I don’t like fondant though so I’ll just peel that off and eat the tower. What are the ingredients in styrofoam anyways? Does it have any trans-fat? I know I’ve had the peanuts before but I’ve never actually seen how it’s baked. “You’re an idiot.” I’ll DVR some Food Network.

Not A Lovedoll: Life-Size Zelda Papercraft Model

Because paper Link need a lady, this is a life-size Zelda papercraft sculpture built by DeviantARTist minidelirium using the template created by PaperJuke, which you can download HERE if you want to build her yourself. Of course minidelirium said she took 226 hours to complete, so you might want to quit your job and clear your social calendar.

the cutting took 88h and the folding and building took 138h. I made a big mistake in the beginning and printed her on 120g paper, so I had to do it all over again in 160g and 200g paper. I’m very satisfied with the result and look forward to giving her to a distant friend. she is about 170cm tall.

WHOA — do you think I’m that distant friend he’s talking about giving it to?! If papercraft Zelda showed up at my door one day I would die. Although, even if she doesn’t show up at my door I’ll die. Mortality, folks — we all have to deal with it. Haha, psyche I’m a WIZZZAAAAAARD.

Zelda Wind Waker/Bohemian Rhapsody Music Video

This is a music video made for Queen’s iconic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ using nothing but appropriately timed cutscenes from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It was made by reader Ben who had this fascinating tidbit to share: “I spent 18 hours playing the game, and 30 hours editing, and I’m pretty proud of the end result.” Rightfully so, Ben — the results are certainly PRIDE-WORTHY. Me? I’ve never done anything worth being proud of. I remember one time in kindergarten I drew a picture of my house and family my mom said it was really good and hung it on the fridge but the next morning I saw it in the trash. That never happened by the way so don’t feel sorry for me. If you’re going to feel sorry for me do it for the right reasons like me being in a dead-end relationship with myself. “Deep thoughts, GW.” Hell yeah, my thoughts hang out in ATLANTIS.

Nintendo Releasing HD Version Of Wind Waker On Wii U This Fall While Next Zelda Game Is In Development

Nintendo just announced the upcoming fall release of a high-definitionized version of Wind Waker for the Wii U. Nintendo says they have an all new Zelda game in the works, but it won’t be ready to announce for awhile, so they encourage gamers to play Wind Waker HD in the meantime. Will I be personally? Only if I can figure out a way to play it without actually buying a Wii U.

You’re Gold Medal Material In My Book: Mexican Gymnast Performs Olympic Floor Routine To Medley of Zelda Songs

Mexican gymnastics Olympian Elsa Garcia Rodriguez Blancas executed her qualifying routine for the floor exercise to a medley of of Zelda songs organized by Lindsay Sterling (of super-animated violin playing fame). Unfortunately, she took 35th place generally because there are no points awarded for having the sweetest soundtrack. \* throwing chairs \* Jesus, what kind of Olympics are you people also running here ?!

And you thought that Nintendo World Championships gold cartridge would certainly make a delightful beginning to the retirement fund. An eBay auction from tjcurtin1 is providing a prototype NES container for the United States release of The Legend of Zelda at a Buy It Now rate of $ 150,000, or approximately ten times more than the common final bid that Price Charting quotes for a traditional NWC cart. While it resembles an unassuming yellow piece of plastic, it’s in fact a Nintendo of America copy from February 23, 1987– half a year before the conclusive action experience reached the US market. The game still plays and can easily also save its game on the still functional, industry-first battery backup. Simply bear in mind that it’s not automatically going to reveal any type of design secrets from Shigeru Miyamoto or Takashi Tezuka: the seller alerts that he just can’t see any type of functional distinctions between the early copy and the (additionally featured) shipping version. Anyone well-heeled enough to buy the prototype is therefore going entirely for the collector’s value. But for those determined to be the coolest kid on any type of block about 25 years late, there’s just one method to go.

Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Link Action Figure

This is a fully posabe (he even has one of those clear support arms so he even perform wacky shit) Link action figure based on his appearance in Skyward Sword. It’ll cost around $ 50 when it’s released this October and is gonna look FANTASTIC on display in my foyer. “I thought you lived in a studio apartment.” I do, I just created a foyer using some of those Japanese folding screens. “Well it looks like shit.” Sure it does now, but imagine it with a Link action figure. “You’re delusional.” My cat says I’m handsome too, thank you!
