Amidst the XDA area’s continuous mission to root every Android smartphone it discovers, one online forum user appears to have actually found a significant exploit that influences certain Exynos gadgets. While fiddling with his Galaxy S III, XDA individual Alephzain found a means to obtain root without flashing with Odin. The Samsung bit evidently enables read / compose access to all physical memory on the device, including the bit itself. This produces an easy root, Alephzain writes, but leaves devices open to attack– enabling Bit code treatments and RAM disposes of from malware-laden applications from the Google Play store.

It isn’t really the only avenue for attack on an Android mobile phone, however it is an extremely easy attack. The good news is, an area cultivated fix appears rather simple too– XDA user RyanZA has actually already developed a patch to customize write consents on affected gadgets– though Galaxy S III users are stating that the fix cripples the phone’s camera app. So far, Alephzain has actually confirmed that the Galaxy S II, III, Note II and the Meizu MX are at risk, but keeps in mind that the exploit might deal with any type of device running a Exynos 4210 or 4412 processor. Samsung has not yet made a remark about the susceptability, however forum participants state that the problem has actually been reported. As for the exploit’s lasting effects? Head on over to the XDA forums to sign up with the discussion.

BT planning to write off 26 stake in troubled OnLive

BT thinks that it’s “very most likely” it’ll let its 2.6 percent stake in OnLive go to the wall. It informed TechRadar that it was keeping a “close eye” on the gaming venture which is restructuring in the face of spiraling debt prices. The telecoms carrier has actually guaranteed that its customers will be able to access the service (for as long as it exists, we guess) and that the investment is a small enough figure that it won’t be fretting too much about its balance slab.

I think that we are nearing the point where human driven design is necessary. If we can create a software program that can learn it can design , build, and do all work.

no way, computers still need human use to work
they can and do do stuff on there own its just in the backgrond such as reorgasnieing files when u open it
but they wouldn’t be able to ‘deciede’ what to do on there own

Want to write for Engadget? We’re hiring in Tokyo, Japan!

Oh sure, you love gadgets — but do you have the chops to write about them? We’d love to know if you think you do, because we’re looking to actually pay humans to do this stuff. Professional writing experience isn’t necessary (though folks with it will get first consideration), but what we really care about is that you can write skillfully about gadgets with wit, concision, and authority. And being obsessed with Engadget is good, too. So here’s what we’re after:

  • Tokyo, Japan-based editor: Full-time, based in Tokyo (or nearby), able to work from home and quickly commute to the city for events, meetings, etc. English must be your first language, as that’s what you’ll be writing for us in.

Samsung announces 32GB microSD card capable of 12MBps write speeds

Go shopping online for a microSDHC card and you’ll find that while manufacturers don’t hide the speed specs, they’re not exactly crowing about ‘em either. Make no mistake, though: Samsung is mighty proud of its new 32GB number, which boasts a class 10 speed rating and read / write rates of 24MBps and 12MBps — ideal numbers for those of you who plan on making good use of your phone’s 1080p camera. If you’re a storage buff, you know that class 10 is the highest speed category for SD cards at the moment, and that it sits above classes 4 and 6 — the tiers covering many other microSDHCs on the market. No word just yet on pricing, but we think it’s safe to say you’ll be dishing out a premium.

Delkin Elite 633 claims to be the fastest SDHC card with 80MBps write speeds

We can’t say we’re pleased that camera makers still haven’t called an armistice in their megapixel war, but a race for the speediest memory card is one battle we can get behind. Delkin says its 32GB Elite 633 SDHC is the fastest in the world, with 80MBps and 95MBps write and read speeds, respectively, handily trumping Sony’s new Memory Sticks that so recently impressed us. This card’s ideal for people who shoot gobs of 1080p video, 3D movies, and high-resolution shots coupled with RAW files, but with a price of $ 440, it’s only worth it for pros. And debutants.
