Android apps on Windows? Been there, done that. Try running Windows programs on Android for size. Alexandre Julliard, the developer behind the Wine compatibility layer, gave an update about an ARM-friendly taste of the software and displayed a version that operates on Android at the 2013 Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Fulfilling. According to Phoronix, the trial of a Windows app operating on Android was “horrendously sluggish,” but Julliard chalks that up to the fact that the sample was chugging along on an Android emulator. Wine for Mountain View’s OS is stated to be an energetic work-in-progress, so there’s no word on when it may discover its method into the wild just yet.
