‘Interactive Fish Tank’ turns water into a capacitive touchscreen

“Interactive Fish Container” is an installation that discovers brand-new, wet limits in touch-based user interfaces. Established in 2011 by Manuela Donoso and Crys Moore, Masters candidates at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunication Program, the piece efficiently turns a bed of water into a capacitive touchscreen, developing a virtual aquarium filled with pixelated goldfish.
With “Fish Storage tank,” individuals can “feed” a swarm of fish by merely tapping their fingers against the area of the water. This creates a bluish circle which the fish– stood for with orange dots– then gather together. The simulated fish will likewise follow a user’s finger as it brushes up throughout the water, as demonstrated in the video below.

This is Bubba’s Hover, a collaboration between pro golfer Bubba Watson and Oakley, and allegedly the world’s first hovercraft golf cart. I find it hard to believe some other rich golfer hasn’t zipped down the fairway in a hovercraft already which is why I looked it up on Youtube and realized I WAS CORRECT. Of course the hovercrafts in those videos were just there for the wide open spaces and weren’t carrying clubs so I guess we’ll have to let Bubba have it on a technicality. Admittedly, driving a hovercart across water hazards does make golf sound more appealing. But you know what would make it even more appealing? Jetpacks. You strap one of those suckers on my back and I’d caddy all day. And night. AND STRAIGHT THROUGH THE NEXT FOUR DAYS. I won’t even sleep, I’ll just keep caddying until my heart stops midair.

I just bought a droid 2 global used online and it is in decent condition but the water indicators all have red x’s.
Do they start with red x’s and turn white, or are they white and then get red x’s?
Please provide your sources.

NASA scientists won’t have to wait until InSight’s 2016 drilling mission to see what lies beneath the surface of Mars — Curiosity is already on the case. After developing a taste for Martian soil late last year, the intrepid rover has started exploring the red planet’s bedrock, drilling a 0.63 inch (1.6 cm) wide hole 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) deep into Mars’ surface. Curiosity will spend the next several days analyzing the resulting powder in hopes of finding evidence of a once-wet planet. The shallow hole marks the first drilling operation ever carried out on Mars, and getting there wasn’t easy. “Building a tool to interact forcefully with unpredictable rocks on Mars required an ambitious development and testing program,” explained Louise Jandura, the chief engineer of the rover’s sample system. “To get to the point of making this hole in a rock on Mars we made eight drills and bored more than 1,200 holes in 20 types of rock on Earth.” The Rover tested its drill by creating a shallower hole earlier this month, though samples will only be used from the second, deeper cavity. NASA believes our return to the Moon could be sustained by extracting water from the lunar soil to produce air and even fuel. But how to get large amounts of that soil without bringing heavy, failure-prone machinery? The agency’s RASSOR (pronounced “razor”) excavator robot might do the trick. Rather than wield big scoops, it has a pair of arm-mounted drums that can change the robot’s profile and dig with far more efficiency than RASSOR’s 100-pound weight would usually allow, using one drum as a grip. The robot’s sheer flexibility is also key to its working for the estimated five years of NASA’s plans: if the crawler ever overturns or gets caught, it can flip over and keep the main treads out of the ground while clearing out soil-related jams. There’s enough refinement needed that a RASSOR 2 follow-up should be in testing around early 2014, but the sequel will be close enough to the ideal design that long-term Moon missions could have the little hauler as a passenger.

The creators expect this to work well in agricultural usages however might be helpful to collect water over night in hot environments or produce wicking clothes for athletes.
