Wasn’t Me: Man Changes Name To Tyrannosaurus Rex

In what one blogger (me) is reporting as an obvious attempt to get me to have sex with him, Tyler Gold of York, Nebraska has legally changed his name to Tyrannosaurus Rex. Me? I earned my T-Rex nickname. “Because you’re so bloodthirsty and vicious?” What? Hell no, because I have one little arm :/
“In Gold’s official filing with the court, he said he wanted to change his name ‘because the (T-Rex designation) is cooler. Also, as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable.’ He verbally repeated his reasoning during the court proceedings, while on the witness stand [Monday].”
LOL @ “as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable.” Oh, it’s a recognizable name alright — one that nobody in their right f***ing mind would would ever want to do business with.
Businessman 1: You ever done business with that idiot calling himself T-Rex before?
Businessman 2: Unfortunately. He bit one of our lawyer’s heads off during a contract signing and dragged the carcass around the room. Then kept RAWRing when we wouldn’t validate his parking.
Thanks to Stephanie, Bobble, Alablaster, Jason T, neolardo, Mike and Andrew M, who agree we should all change our names to different dinosaurs and start a company. Now THAT — that’s a million dollar idea.

Samsung wasn’t interested in buying RIM, still isn’t interested in buying RIM
Samsung already passed on webOS, and now, it’s passing on RIM. The flagging handset maker was reportedly in talks with Samsung about a buyout, but according to a fresh Reuters report, Sammy’s “not interested” in taking over Research In Motion. Samsung spokesman James Chun said the following: “We haven’t considered acquiring the firm and are not interested in (buying RIM).” Why even respond to a rumor? Well, RIM’s shares surged some ten percent at just the whisper, further proving that stocks in the digital age are little more than sophisticated gambling blocks when unfounded rumors are bandied about. So, that’s that — Samsung’s not buying RIM, the sun’s still warm, and RIM is still too far away from BlackBerry 10.

Porsche gives 911 GT3 R hybrid more power, less weight — swears it wasn’t fat or anything

There are two ways to make a car go faster, add power or subtract weight, and Porsche has done a little bit of both to its new 911 GT3 R hybrid racer in preparation for this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race. Porsche took last year’s version, put it on a 50kg diet, and bumped the output of each of the car’s two KERS-powered front-wheel electric motors by 21hp (giving drivers 202 ‘lectric horses and 480 of the ICE variety for a pavement-melting 682hp total). The boys from Stuttgart hope the Jenny Craig routine will improve performance, fuel economy, and the car’s chances of winning the endurance event in June. The hybrid-drive technology — originally sourced from Williams’ F1 cars — made an appearance in the firm’s 918 RSR hybrid and is largely unchanged from the 2010 model. Unfortunately, this is a racing-only situation, what with the KERS flywheel riding shotgun, but we’re sure one of the hundreds of other technologically-inclined 911 variants will sate your need for speed.
