Just a quick little heads-up! iPhone Dev Team Lead hacker Musclenerd has confirmed that they’ve managed to fix UltraSn0w incompatibility issues with iOS 4.3.1 and posted a teaser shot of his iPhone running on T-Mobile with good Signal strength. This update is only for4.3.1 compatibility and ONLY unlocks the baseband that Ultrasn0w 1.2 currently supports.
The 4.3.1 issues (signal bars, etc) are fixed http://is.gd/OYktXf but need a few days to test all devices + FW (again: not a new unlock!)
Please note that this is not a new unlock but a fix which will be pushed for making it compatible with iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Only those, who are already unlocked on older baseband will be able to take advantage of it.
The official ultrasn0w 1.3 / 1.2.1 repo http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com will cover iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00, iPhone 3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 including06.15.00. Baseband 05.14.02 and 05.15.04 will be still locked and you need to update your iPhone 3GS to baseband 06.15.00. However, you will lose your GPS (known issue) if you install the iPad (6.15.00) baseband. Currently, there is no unlocking for iPhone 4 baseband 2.10.01, 3.10.01, 4.10.01.

iPhone Dev Team is all set to roll-out its updated Ultrasn0w 1.3 along with Redsn0w and PwnageTool for jailbreaking iOS 4.3.1 today. The upcoming ultrasn0w update is only for 4.3.1 compatibility and unlocks all the baseband that Ultrasn0w 1.2 currently supports.
BTW ultrasn0w needs an update for 4.3.1, so unlockers should wait until that gets pushed out (hopefully also today)
The upcoming ultrasn0w update is *only* for 4.3.1 compatibility. Please don’t read anything else into it!

You already know by now how to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 using Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1 on Windows. Now its time to unlock your iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, if you haven’t already. If your device is on baseband 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, BB 05.14.02, 05.15.04 or 06.15.00, you can easily unlock it using following guide.
Requirements
- Download Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1 on your desktop
- Download iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
- Download and install iTunes 10.2.1 for Windows
Unlocking iPhone 4 on baseband 01.59.00
If your iPhone 4 is having baseband of 01.59.00, you can use sn0wbreeze 2.4b1 to jailbreak your device without updating its baseband (Guide posted here). Being tethered jailbreak, you need to boot your iPhone in tethered mode using iBooty. Once jailbroken, follow the steps below to unlock it using Ultrasn0w 1.2
Step 1: Start Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.2.1 springboard.
Step 2: Select Manage tab at the bottom of your iPhone screen and then select Sources.
Step 3: Select Edit and then select Add. Now enter a URL source. Type repo666.ultrasn0w.com and select on Add Source. Once Cydia has added the source click on Return to Cydia button.
Step 4: Once the installation is completed. Search for ultrasn0w in Cydia and install it.
Step 5: This will automatically unlock your jailbroken iPhone 3GS, 3G running baseband 01.59.00.
Step 6: Reboot it. That’s it!
Unlocking iPhone 3GS on baseband 05.14.02, 05.15.04
To do so, make sure you first update your baseband to 06.15.00 and then unlock it. Steven has made your life a bit easier by allowing you to update  to 06.15.00 baseband within sn0wbreeze.
It is important to note that upgrading iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS! The first step would be to jailbreak your device iOS 4.3.1 using sn0wbreeze (Guide posted here). The steps would remain same, with few changes listed below.
Step 2: Select iPhone 3GS firmware files (Old or NEW Bootrom).
Step 3: The application will automatically detect the device which is required to be jailbroken. Once the 4.3.1 IPSW is verified, click the blue arrow button to continue. Here it will ask, if your device is having old or new bootrom (as shown in screenshot below).
In this case, select option ‘Unlocks’, as shown below. This step is mandatory if you want to unlock your iPhone 3GS running on BB 05.14.02 or 05.15.04. To do so, make sure you first update your baseband to 06.15.00 and then unlock it. This step will updates the baseband of your iPhone 3GS to iPad’s baseband.
Select “Install 06.15.00 iPad baseband. Click Ok and then Blue arrow button to continue. It is important to note that upgrading iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS!
Follow same process (Step 6 to Step 10).
Step 11: Now select the iPhone 3GS custom IPSW files. Wait for a while till iTunes installs the new firmware 4.3.1 on your iPhone 3GS. After the installation is done, the device will restart automatically. You have now successfully jailbroken iOS 4.3.1 iPhone 3GS with baseband 06.15.00.
Step 12: Follow same steps to tether boot your jailbroken device using iBooty.
It’s now time to unlock your iPhone 3GS, To do so, simply use ultrasn0w to unlock your iOS device.
Unlocking iPhone 3GS on baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 or 06.15.00
If your iPhone 3GS is already on baseband 06.15.00, then use sn0wbreeze 2.4b1 to jailbreak it first (Guide posted here) and then follow (Steps 1 to Steps 6 – listed above) to unlock your iPhone 3GS baseband 06.15.00.

iOS hacker iH8sn0w has just released sn0wbreeze 2.3b4 jailbreak that brings working unlock on iPhone 3GS baseband (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00) running iOS 4.3 firmware . Follow the guide to “Tethered” jailbreak your iPhone 3GS (Old and New Bootrom) and then use ultrasn0w to unlock your device.
Earlier, Ultrasn0w was broken on iOS 4.3 but Steven managed to the patch ultrasn0w using Ultrasn0w fixer developed by msft_guy and then integrated with sn0wbreeze utility.
Full Change Log
- ultrasn0w now works for basebands (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00)
- ultrasn0w is NOT compatible with the folllowing basebands! (02.10.04 / 03.10.01 / 04.10.01 / 05.14.02 / 05.15.04)
- Upgrading your iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS!
- Fixed minor GUI + iBooty bugs.
Step 1: Download Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4
Step 2: Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS (New Bootrom) device using guide posted here. For ‘New Boorom’ you need to tether boot your device using iBooty. For Old Bootrom iBooty is not required as it supports untethered jailbreak.
Step 3: Follow (Step 2-7) to unlock your iPhone 3GS using guide posted here
Note: If your iPhone 3GS is running on BB 05.14.02  or 05.15.04, then make sure you first update your baseband to 06.15.00 and then unlock it.
