Tweetbot for Mac hits beta, runs headlong into new Twitter API limits

Tweetbot for Mac hits beta, runs headlong into new Twitter API rules

Fast payday loans For Every One

We have actually been considering the Tweetbot for Mac alpha for many weeks now. It’s about time that a more refined beta version show up, we ‘d say– and the new 0.8 revision does its finest to validate relocating one letter up the alphabet. Most of the upgrade concentrates on enhanced multi-column and keyboard support, along with a load of bug fixes. The genuine tale, though, may be exactly what Tweetbot just can’t do. Twitter’s difficult new API restrictions placed a sharp curb on the number of new users that a third-party developer like Tapbots can easily deliver into the fold. To maximize the number of consumers buying the completed version, the company is limiting beta access solely to those who have actually currently connected their Twitter accounts to the alpha; if you aren’t already part of the secret club, you’re not getting in today. We’re still anticipating the completed Tweetbot release, but the hoop-jumping needed to keep the app commercially feasible doesn’t bode well for any future competitors with the formal Twitter clients.

Tweetbot for iOS updated with iCloud syncing of timelines and more across devices

Nearly a year after it debuted and caught our eye as an incredibly well structured Twitter client for the iPhone, Tweetbot’s latest revision uses Apple’s cloud servers to sync the experience instead of just content. Version 2.2′s iCloud based syncing of account settings, timeline position, DMs and Mute filters lets those deep in the iLife go from iPhone to iPad or vice versa without missing a beat. The only possible fly in the ointment? The tablet and phone version are still separate apps that cost $ 2.99 each, but satisfied customers who have already ponied up can start enjoying their seamless transitions as soon as they’ve updated.

Tweetbot hits 2.0, heads to iPad with new features and UI in tow
The dev folk over at Tapbots have just unleashed a major overhaul to their famed Twitter client. Tweetbot 2.0 not only sees the addition of a few new traits and a design refresh, but it’s also on the receiving end of some welcomed iPad compatibility (iOS 5 only). Though, it’s worth mentioning the app isn’t universal — so you’ll have to cough up three bucks for the slate variant, even if you’ve already got the iPhone edition. Amongst the new goodies is a renovated timeline view with pic thumbnails, an optional New Tweets bar, auto-refresh, and a one-tap system for links. If you’re still rockin’ the official birdie app, but are looking for something a bit different, then hit up the source link below to scan through the rest of the features and see if it’s enough to make you fly the coop.
