‘Riddick’ Trailer: It’s Vin Versus the Whole Khaki-Colored World

Born from a muddy CGI womb cradled amid Ghosts of Mars, 300, and a Sega CD cutscene from Sewer Shark, Riddick returns Vin Diesel to his role as a muscle-bound mole-man and drops him on a desolate, entirely Vin Diesel-colored planet. There, both bounty hunters and the even more dangerous native fauna threaten his existence, and Vin Diesel lifts his goggles real cool-like, like you can tell he’s imagining Yello’s “Oh Yeah” is playing.

Here’s the trailer. If you don’t remember the last couple Riddick movies, don’t worry about it. This doesn’t seem to rely too heavily on understanding that mythology. Just on understanding Vin Diesel’s groan language.

Ender's Game trailer teased on Google, promises full preview on May 7th

Film promotion has changed over the years. Sure, there are still posters, trailers, TV spots, and radio and print ads, but now there’s also Google+ — at least for Ender’s Game. The upcoming film, based on Orson Scott Card’s award winning sci-fi novel, is using the social network to tease fans — flaunting a brief peek at the film’s trailer and advertising a Google+ Hangout with the film’s creators. Leading actors Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield kicked off the hype machine by introducing a teaser trailer for the film, promising the full preview as a Google / YouTube exclusive next week. The entire clip (introduction included) falls under a minute, just long enough for die-hard fans to cry “the book is better.” You can take your continuity complaints to the film’s director, producer and star on May 7th.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ trailer is overloaded with divine angst

The venerable Kenneth Branagh wasn’t able to turn Thor into the hit of Marvel-sized proportions that fans expected — but maybe a new director can. Marvel has released the first trailer for Thor: The Dark World, and it shows off plenty of explosions, worried looks, and hints of the ancient evil that Thor will be facing. The series’ new director, Alan Taylor, only has a few films to his name, but he’s something of a regular around HBO: most recently, he helmed four episodes of this season of Game of Thrones, including its premiere. Thor is scheduled to hit theaters this November, when we’ll see if Taylor can turn the sequel into a proper blockbuster.

Man Steals Tractor Trailer, Crashes It, Blames Zombies

In solid alibi news, 19-year old Jerimiah Hartline stole a tractor trailer in California last Saturday, then sped it down a highway before crashing it on its side, causing several other accidents. And all because zombies were chasing him. You laugh now, but in the future that’ll be admissible in court.

He was arrested at the crash scene and appeared to be in an altered state, claiming he was being chased by zombies,” California Highway Patrol officer Nathan Baer told Patch on Monday.

He allegedly took off down Interstate 15, sideswiping several vehicles and prompting multiple crashes that injured seven people, according to the Union-Times. He’s suspected of striking two more cars before the semi jackknifed, blocking all four lanes of traffic.

Hartline then fled the vehicle and tried to steal a van, but the van’s driver detained him until police arrived, cops said.

Drugs: sometimes they make you do crazy, dangerous shit. And other times they make you watch every episode of Game of Thrones back-to-back, only getting up twice to grab snacks and pee on the toilet seat. That was a great day for me.

Thanks to Tallon, who tried to blame zombies for tearing his clothes off when he was arrested for running around the liquor store naked. Been there, done that, bro — it doesn’t work.

Newest ‘Game of Thrones’ trailer is surreal and foreboding

A new teaser trailer for the third season of Game of Thrones was launched today, and it appears that the show is headed in a really weird instructions. The puzzling trailer includes a three-eyed raven flying through modern-looking cities, as “The Rainfalls of Castamere” plays. Drifting text notifies us that “their globe go back to ours,” though its confusing if it just implies the show will be returning or if there’s a deeper, more symbolic meaning including the next season’s plot. The 3rd period will be based upon A Storm of Swords, the third publication in George R. R. Martin’s A Track of Ice and Fire collection, and is set to air on HBO on March 31st.
