Spare Some Tickets?: Insane Arcade Basketball Guy

basketball-guy.jpg

This is a video of a a guy playing one of those arcade basketball games. Is he better than our previously reigning champ? I don’t know, their techniques are completely different. The first guy takes his time to make every shot, this guy throws the balls at lightspeed. Oh man, one time I was playing tug-o-war with my dog when she let go of the rope bone and — WA-BAP! — I clubbed myself in the balls at full force. I ran to the bathroom, dropped my shorts, and just sat there cupping them until I whited out and fell off the toilet. Never again.

Hit the jump for the ticketmaster in action.

Build A Cellphone Car Mount Out Of Spare Office Supplies

Why not do something productive with the last few minutes of your workday and actually make something. Go to the supply closest and grab a large binder clip, some string, a durable rubber band and a bit of duct tape (black if it’s available). Got it? Good. First, look at this pic of the end result and try to build what you see. Of course you could always head over to Lifehacker for the step-by-step, but it will feel so much better if you construct it yourself. At least that’s what my mom used to tell me.

Shenzhen netvertible flips its lid, apes Dell Inspiron Duo with days to spare

If you thought the Inspiron Duo would be the only netvertible to have a slick spinning screen, think again — with less than three months since Dell’s design debuted and ten days till it ships, that trap-door design’s been copied by the gadget giants of Shenzhen. This time around, it’s not an obvious KIRF, but it’s also not a terribly powerful little PC — where Dell at least attempted to push the envelope with a dual-core Atom N550 processor, 2GB of RAM and a Broadcom Crystal HD chip, here we’re looking at a bargain-basement netbook with all the usual suspects (Atom N450, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Intel GMA 3150) and what looks like a tiny optical trackpad. At least it’s got a capacitive screen! No word on when or how much you can expect to pay if flipping bezels are your thing.

Got A Spare $10k? Buy Your Own Stargate For The Backyard

Heads up Stargate fans, the prop auction starts on the 25th. They’ve got pretty much everything from uniforms to animatronic Asgaard puppets. Always wanted a Zat gun to use on your editor? They’re auctioning one off. Fancy a Stargate: Atlantis PDA? You can pick one of those up too.

Propworx is auctioning a ton of props starting this coming Saturday. You can view the catalog online, or download it from the Propworx site. The auction itself is in Washington state, at the Science Fiction Museum of Seattle. The star of the show (no pun intended) is an actual Stargate, the one they used on location is made of fiberglass and welded steel. The bad news is that the gate is expect to sell for somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 8,000 to $ 10,000. We’ve asked Devin to pick one up for the CrunchGear offices, so no one bid against him please. I just want a hard copy of the auction catalog.

Got a spare $35k? Buy a real Tron light cycle

Ok, this is a couple of days old, but it’s too cool not to share. There’s a company that makes custom motorcycles, and they are currently building a total of 5 functioning TRON light cycles. They are expensive as hell because everything is custom of course, but you have to admit – pretty damn cool.

You can customize the bike with whatever color you like (but there’s only 1 of each color being made, so hurry), the wheels are hubless, and you can pick between gas or electric engines. The cool thing is, this isn’t going to be like the Batpod either, where only one man in the entire world can ride it without killing himself, this is a real, functioning motorcycle. Hit up the Ebay auction for all the details, and if you actually buy one please send us pictures.
