Is it possible to manufacture an advanced wireless-capable tool completely in the United States? That’s vaguely the idea of Google’s jet-black orb, introduced last week at the search (and now hardware) giant’s I/O occasion in San Francisco. Now, the Nexus Q is simply dying to get undressed, and that’s precisely what our iFixit good friends have actually done, exposing each element’s country of origin. Probably one of the most notable products, the Samsung 16GB moviNAND Flash Memory module, might have been made stateside (Austin, TX), however could possibly even have actually been created in Hwaseong, South Korea. Some parts, such as the ethernet port (China) or optical-out connector (Japan) could just have been imported, as iFixit mentions, though others are absolutely domestic (a photomicrosensor made in California or Illinois). Ready to dive in yourself to verify those seekings? You’re not going to desire to open this thing up on your very own– there’s a bevy of capacitors inside, consisting of one with outcome in the 400-volt variety (a caution label alerts would-be trespassers). You can, nevertheless, poke around a bit more at our source link below.

PAL-V Gyrocopter/Car Hybrid Takes Maiden Voyage, Moves One Step Closer To Crashing Somewhere Near You
This is the PAL-V (Personal Air and Land Vehicle) ONE, a “car”/gyrocopter hybrid from The Netherlands that’s aimed at revolutionizing personal transport, but will probably only lead to a dramatic increase in gyrocopter related deaths. According to the company, the car can be driven on any road with a standard driver’s license, and requires only a recreational or private pilot’s license (“only 20 – 30 hours of training”) to fly. I…find that terrifying. “You find everything terrifying.” I nailed my apartment door shut and I’m never leaving.
The flying range will be between 350 (220 miles) and 500 km (315 miles), depending on the type, pay load and wind conditions. Driving, a PAL-V will have a range of about 1200 km (750 miles). It runs on gasoline like a conventional car and there will also be versions that use biodiesel or bio-ethanol. It can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h (110 miles/h) both on land and in the air.
On the ground the slim, aerodynamic, 3-wheeled vehicle combines the comfort of a car with the agility of a motorcycle thanks to its patented, cutting-edge, ’tilting’ system. Driving, a PAL-V accelerates like a sports car and drives through curves like a motorcycle.
Flying, a PAL-V is like a standard gyrocopter. It is quieter than helicopters due to the slower rotation of the main rotor. It takes off and lands with low speed, cannot stall, and is very easy to control. This makes a PAL-V one of the safest types of aircraft.
Thanks to its very short take off and landing capability, it is possible to land a PAL-V practically anywhere. For take-off, a strip of 165 meters (540 feet) is enough and it can be either paved or grass.
Unfortunately, with all those safety features, there’s still nothing that prevents you from flying into power lines trying to barnstorm a friend’s house. And then what do you do? “Dangle above the street and get shocked to death?” Exaaaactly.
Hit the jump for several more shots of the lollercopter and a video of its maiden voyage.

…it will be on a carrier? That kinda sucks and means the “unsubsidized” price will likely be very inflated. I would much rather have a port to plug in my own modem. If I could I would probably sign up for Clear internet here in houston since a usb 4g modem comes with the home service gratis.

You know, the vast majority of Chinese PMPs are underwhelming, and we can’t say for sure that the Windows G85HD is any different, but the video walkthrough of the user interface has us interested at the very lease. Reportedly, the all-white, touchscreen-centric device packs a Rockchip RK2806 processor, a 4.3-inch panel (800 x 480), 3.5mm headphone jack, 720p video output, 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, FM radio tuner, a Chinese-English dictionary and support for a multitude of file formats. There’s nary a word on when and where you’ll be able to find this, but if you find yourself situated in Shenzhen, feel free to scope things out at the local market and fill us in.

Hunter S. Thompson calling for tech support: We were somewhere outside of Barstow when the JVC soundsystem stopped working
Do did not cross Mr. Duke. He knew that you screwed up his soundsystem – made a maze of his cables, in fact – and was totally willing to write about your service. If he doesn’t get some support right now he’s was going to… never mind what he was going to do. Just get up here.
