Samsung’s mobile chief JK Shin hinted that the company would soon be announcing an Android-powered mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, and now the Galaxy NX is all but official. In press shots appearing on a Vietnamese gadget site, the device is pictured with a mirrorless mount and a trio of NX lenses. Judging from the body, the camera is likely to be closer in size to a DSLR than Samsung’s existing CSC lineup, with a large touchscreen occupying much of the rear.

Hardware controls are few and far between, and may be limited to a shutter release, video capture button, top-mounted dial and a pop-up flash release, along with the compulsory lens release to the left of the swappable optic. It’s said to include Android 4.2, a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, ISO sensitivity through 25,600 and 1080p video capture. Pricing info is still up in the air, as is an official announce date, which could very well be as soon as Samsung’s June 20th event in London. Hit up the source for a few more shots.

This is a series of shots from German photographer Martin Rietze of last month’s eruptions of the Sakurajima Volcano in Japan. He looks like he’s standing pretty close, but hopefully he was just using one of those super-zoom lenses perverts use to take shots of girls on the beach from their hotel room balconies. That reminds me, one year in college I went to Daytona Beach for spring break when it also happened to be Motorcycle Week there and this older, leathery-looking woman on the back of a chopper flashed her boobs at me in a Walgreens parking lot. I gave her a thumbs up but deep down in my heart and peen they really just made me sad. Obviously I had to get really drunk afterwards and that night I swallowed a glow-stick.

About a week back, we went hands-on with LG’s brand-new mid-range LTE-capable Optimus F5 and F7 smartphones at MWC. At the time it was unidentified where these smartphones would land in the US, but it appears that we now have the goods on the former. According to a pair of supposed press shots acquired by UnwiredView, LG’s F5 will be revealing up on Verizon in the not so long run. Said to be a follow up to in 2012′s Lucid, this mid-tier gadget’s major bullet points include a modest 4.3-inch qHD display, a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera (capable of 1080p video capture) and Android 4.1.2. Sure, the Lucid 2′s specs remind us even more of a keyboard faster way and less of a powerful storm– we just hope that its cost will additionally be a refresh. As MWC draws near, it’s not surprising to see an increase in leaks, and today we bring you a few more pictures of Huawei’s Ascend P2, which recently made a cameo in some unofficial product shots. The 4.7-inch full HD handset is expected to feature Android 4.1.2, a quad-core 1.8 GHz processor (developed in house), 2GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage (plus microSD), a 13MP shooter and a 2200mAh battery. Slotting below the 5-inch Ascend D2 and 6.1-inch Ascend Mate we saw at CES, the Ascend P2 is rumored to be less than 6.45mm thick with Nexus 4-like on-screen buttons. Of course, since the FCC is unlikely to certify such a svelte device, it’s likely we’ll see a tweaked version of this phone if it ever makes it to the US — then again, it looks thicker to us in the pictures. Pricing is supposedly targeting the 3,000 Yuan mark ($ 480), unsubsidized. Guess we’ll find out more in Barcelona, right? Hit the break for a couple more images.
