I’ve got the option of buying one or the other. $ 500 for the prime and there is a xoom for $ 350.
Is the prime worth the $ 150 difference?

Hell yes, the Prime is much better than the Xoom. The Prime features a Tegra 3 while the Xoom has a Tegra 2 (and Tegra 3 is quad core!) a better display, it’s a lot smoother especially with Android 4.0, and best of all if you purchase the optional Keyboard dock, you can make a beautiful Android ‘laptop’ 
the keyboard dock also has a battery for extremely long battery life.

OptiTrack debuts $3,700 PRIME 17W mocap cam for small spaces

Independent creators keen on motion capture have had affordable solutions like cheaper sensors and Kinect-based implementations for awhile now, but a large space for moving around has usually been required. OptiTrack has come up with an answer to that problem, however, in the form of the PRIME 17W mocap camera that it introduced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The 1.7-megapixel lens has a 70-degree by 51-degree field of view that promises to capture motion in a relatively small space, which also means you need fewer cameras to get a full 360-degree shot. Other features include a global shutter, high-speed 360 FPS capture and low distortion, enabling UAV and sports tracking. At $ 3,700, it’s still not exactly cheap, but it’s certainly affordable enough for indie engineers and animators with space constraints to get started in the mocap biz.

A new currently known largest prime number has been located, and the thing has over 17-million digits. That…is a big number. Not HUGE, but still pretty big. Definitely wouldn’t fit in a breadbox. Well not unless you beat it with a meat tenderizer first.
The Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) project has scored its 14th consecutive victory, discovering the largest prime number so far.
The number, 2 to the power of 57,885,161 minus 1, is a digit that’s 17,425,170 digits long. That’s big enough that if you want to see the full text, you’ll have to brace yourself for a 22.5MB download. [Note: links to actual text webpage of the entire number]
GIMPS, a cooperative project splitting the search across thousands of independent computers, announced the find yesterday after it had been confirmed by other checks. At present, there are 98,980 people and 574 teams involved in the GIMPS project; their 730,562 processors perform about 129 trillion calculations per second.
Ahahahahha, GIMPS — that’s a solid acronym. I love an organization that can have a funny name and still be cool with it. Unless they didn’t know they had a funny name, in which case that just makes me kind of sad.
