Lush were a British band from 1987 to 1996. Their first full length album, Spooky, is the subject of The Classics this week. The playlist below spans their entire career, which included three albums, several EPs, a greatest hits collection, and a lot of B-sides, collected in 1996. Three songs on the playlist are covers, something Lush excelled at by making songs their own without destroying their original tone: Abba’s “Hey Hey Helen,” Wire’s “Outdoor Miner,” and Dennis Wilson’s “Fallin’ In Love.” Enjoy.

As the lone Verge staffer based in the Great White North, I need to put up with a lot. There are endless jokes about the weather, hockey, and maple syrup. But more than anything, I hear jokes about songs: Bieber and Bublé which band that sings “How You Remind Me.” Nobody appears to keep in mind the good things. It resembles disparaging American music because of the existence of Hanson.

The other world could not understand it, however there’s an entire lot of excellent songs that comes out of Canada. And since the country is so spread out, it’s additionally really varied. Tupac and Fleet Foxes are pretty big in Vatican City.

Way back in 2009, when Pope Benedict XVI was firmly in papal place and MySpace was still a thing, the Vatican released an official playlist representing the Catholic church. In between recordings of His Holiness and selections from Mozart, the Vatican got super weird, track-wise.

At the time, the Vatican explained its decision to include songs like Tupac's “Changes” thusly: “The genres are very different from each other, but all these artists share the aim to reach the heart of good minded people.” So, basically, #thuglife.

“He Doesn't Know Why” by Fleet Foxes adds a certain “college sophomore dorm room” feel to the playlist. Way chill, Pope-bro!

We just got to invest a couple of minutes with HP’s brand-new Pocket Playlist, a tremendously small WiFi drive that can pump out media to up to 5 devices at the same time. Thanks to a PlayLater subscription, the drive can pull material from Hulu, shop it up and push out material to your smartphones. Capable of projecting video to three devices at the same time or audio to five, it’s made for those long auto journeys where someone wants to see Dora while somebody else views Duck Dynasty. In person, its a startlingly thin and light piece of hardware, hardly a few millimeters thick and only a little longer than an iPhone 5. Obviously, like anything that’s clad in black, piano gloss plastic, it takes hardly a few minutes prior to it’s covered in fingerprint smears. The 32GB drive ships on February 15th and will set you back $ 130.

There’s no shortage of WiFi storage gadgets these days, however it’s not commonly that they collect web video– which makes HP’s new Wallet Playlist a minimum of rather deserving of a closer appearance. Through a PlayLater subscription and COMPUTER software, the cordless drive can keep video from Hulu, Netflix and other sources for playback when it’s more beneficial. Anybody not keen on attempting to snag a local copy of a stream could still share up to 16 motion pictures, 7,600 songs or 10,000 pictures to as many as five gadgets, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone gear. HP ships the Wallet Playlist on February 15th for $ 129.
