Google’s new Places for Business app lets you verify and update listings on your iPhone

When you run your own business, time is cash and often you don’t have the excess mins to return to your COMPUTER and modify your Google Place Google+ Local list, right? Luckily, if you’re holding an iPhone in your wallet and have Google’s new Places for Company app, you can readjust those opening times, confirm your establishment (and even more) on the go. Various other functions consist of web traffic tracking, plus the capability to improve your Google+ listing with fresh images and deal with multiple branches from one location. Google’s most current business-facing software is offered to US-based company owners on iTunes– it’s Apple-only in the meantime.

Evernote? More like previously tease. Just this week it was appealing badly organized Mac owners with a beta release of Evernote 5, now the team is back to dangle its 5th variation for iOS in front of our nostrils. The theme right here is speed, with the brand-new design placing everything simply 2 taps away– along with quick note buttons right on the residence screen. The locations see also gets a lick of paint, to help you much better pin down those moments of motivation (or panicked bearing in mind). Other tweaks consist of a new “current notes” bar, and– generously– much easier access to premium features. Ironically, the designers forgot to provide us a release date, leaving us only with “coming really quickly” for reassurance. While you hang around, however, why not view the preview video after the break for solace.

Pi In The Sky: Pilots ‘Skytype’ Pi To 1,000 Places

Since exactly what better method to brag to aliens that we recognize numbers, a group of pilots skytyped (the numbers were created with puffs of smoke and not created with loopty loops) pi to 1,000 digits above San Francisco earlier this week. Above LA? Pure smog. Some days you cannot even see taller people’s faces.
The “Pi In The Sky” skywriting occasion needed five planes flying in sync in a loop over 100 miles long to fit it all in. The piece was produced by an artist called “Ishky,” working with Endurance Design, for the 2012 Zero1 Biennial.
There’s a video recording of some of the creating going down after the jump, which, if I had anything to do with it, would have checked out 3.1415 PEN15. “You enjoy those things.” They’re so unusual!

Apple, which once rebuked the 7-inch tablet as unfit for normally proportioned human hands, appears ready to try its own hand at an iPad rumored to be on the larger side of the 7- to 8-inch range. Amazon, which lagged its bookselling rival Barnes & Noble in bringing out a color tablet, stands ready to introduce an infernal successor to the Kindle Fire that may include a display that is close to 9-inches or larger.
It’s not quite the first ride along the screen size escalator for either company. For Apple, a smaller iPad would fill in the iOS screen size gap between the iPhone and iPad. For Amazon, also rumored to be working on a phone, a larger color tablet would revisit the ground it explored to lackluster results with the Kindle DX. That product hasn’t kept up with even e-paper-based e-readers with advances such as touchscreens and side-lighting, both of which are found in the latest Nook Simple Nook.
