Virgin Mobile may be next up for pay-as-you-go iPhone parade on July 1st

iPhone 4S Sprint review

Fast payday loans For Every One

It might be that Cricket’s iPhone deal is just the tip of the prepaid iceberg: insiders reportedly say that Sprint’s pay-as-you-go brand Virgin Mobile will be taking the Apple plunge as well. Details of what it will cost are still very much unknown, although we’d look to Cricket’s $ 500 unsubsidized iPhone 4S and $ 35 monthly plan as strong clues. If the WSJ‘s connections are accurate, though, we could see a Virgin iPhone for the US as soon as its northern neighbor Canada blows out the birthday candles, on July 1st. At this rate, the only American carrier of any kind without an iPhone will be T-Mobile, and it’s clear that this glaring exception is eager to hop onboard.

Developer gets Kinect working on Android, rains on Microsoft's WP7 parade

Windows Phone 7 is getting a lot of extensions this year and, while we wouldn’t say Kinect interoperability is anywhere near as important as third-party multitasking, it could be fun. Still, we haven’t seen proper Kinect interop, the sort that would see you controlling WP7 games with a Kinect — the sort that is apparently possible on Android. YouTuber HirotakaSter has managed to hook a Kinect up to Android hardware, what looks to be an Armadillo 500 FX development platform, and get everything to play nice. He’s using openFrameworks and, while at this point the software isn’t doing much other than showing a video stream from the camera, the possibilities from here are quite simply infinite.

[Thanks, Muhammad Ali]

Geohot ra1ns on Apple parade with new iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch jailbreak
Original iPhone hardware hacker, George Hotz or “Geohot”, has beaten the iPhone Dev Team to an iOS 4.1 jailbreak called Limera1n, giving users to wish to jailbreak their iPad (on iOS 3.2.2), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4th Gen or the iPod Touch 3rd Gen that ability again, after iOS 4.1 initially took it away, with Geohot promising the jailbreak should work with the upcoming iOS 4.2 and …

Microsoft celebrates Windows Phone 7 RTM with funeral parade for BlackBerry and iPhone

The iPhone’s dead, long live the Windows Phone. That must be the genius proclamation that incited Microsoft to celebrate Windows Phone 7 reaching RTM status with the incomprehensible procession you see above. An elaborate parade, replete with hearses and black capes, was organized last week to denote the passing of the BlackBerry and iPhone into the land of unwanted gadgets. We’d say this is done in poor taste, but we don’t enjoy stating the obvious. We will, however, enjoy the fallout from this poorly judged stunt. See our favorite image after the break and lots more at the source.
