How many of you believe that robots will be a normal part of a human houshold in 20 years?
Question by JTK: How many of you believe that robots will be a normal part of a human houshold in 20 years?
I think they probably will be with Bill Gates involved in the whole thing. Usually if Bill Gates thinks it is going to happen it will, just like when he launced Microsoft 30 years ago. We have made a lot of advances in robotics the last few years, take Asimo for example. I personally think it will happen.

It would do you well to listen closely sir, if we dont’ stop what we are doing right now we will be lucky if a human is part of a robot household in 20 years. I have been watching and reading a lot about robots and I am pretty sure they will be taking over the planet in the fall of 2011. Mark my words sir, mark my words well.

Foxconn denies Chinese factories affected by strike, says iPhone production continuing as normal

Foxconn has provided a declaration to Reuters calling reports of a strike at its factory in Zhengzhou, China “incorrect.” The reports, which stem from New York-based China Labor Watch, specified that between 3,000 and 4,000 employees went on strike on Friday since of concerns with quality control policies and being forced to work through nationwide vacations. China Labor Watch also said that “several iPhone 5 production lines from various factory buildings were in a state of depression for the whole day.”
” Any type of reports that there has been an employee strike are incorrect.”
According to Foxconn, the plant in concern was subject to “two brief and little arguments” on October 1st and 2nd. Apparently, “any reports that there has been an …

Apple Support: Purple Flaring Is “Normal Behavior” For iPhone 5 Camera
Earlier, we stated that Apple ’ s iPhone 5 seemed to have some issues with purple flaring when taking images with a light source just in or off frame, as stated by a number of users and replicated in tests. Today, Gizmodo reader Matt Van Gastel received a response from Apple ’ s engineering team routed through a support representative that essentially states that behavior isn ’ t reason for issue. According to the email from Apple:
[W] e recommend that you angle the camera far from the bright light source when taking pictures. The purple flare in the image provided is looked at regular behavior for iPhone 5 ′ s camera.
Of course, long-time Apple watchers will certainly recognize this approach to dealing with what seem to be hardware issues with iPhones, given that it ’ s really just like what the company at first stated about the iPhone 4 ′ s reception problems, which was basically ‘ you ’ re holding it incorrect.‘ However in this case, there ’ s reason to believe Apple could really be proper. TechCrunch reader and photographer Adam Panzica explains in a note uploaded to our initial story:
As numerous others have specified, this kind of thing occurs very regularly in cameras of all kinds. I in fact remember there being a firmware update to my Canon 7D to address this problems with particular less and lighting combos. It ’ s an outcome of certain light regularities being reflected/refracted in the lens from the off-angle light source. It may resemble lens flare on a bigger glass, but on something this thin it ’ s probably always going to resemble a purple haze. You just can not beat the laws of physics. High end DSLRs have whole image processors a hell of a lot advanced than the one in a cellular phone dedicated to removing this kind of thing. However it still appears from time to time, especially with brand-new glass.
The bad news, as Adam points out, is that it ’ s largely bound to happen, a minimum of in regards to removing it totally. The great news is that as discussed, it ’ s the sort of result that ’ s been resolved or improved in other places through firmware update, so Apple can potentially establish a way to compensate for it taking place in iPhone 5 in later variations of iOS, and it could also vanish with time.
In the meantime, this is even more of a problem bug than a game-ender; I ’ ve yet to have it occur to my photos in the general course of taking photos, besides when I was trying to make it take place. The response from Apple ’ s client support team may not be especially reassuring to those who are seeing this complication with any type of regularity, but I wouldn ’ t be surprised if it ’ s the last word from Apple on the matter of the purple haze.

What’s better the Android Phone operating system or the normal?
Question by : What’s better the Android Phone operating system or the normal?
I been looking at some mobile (Cell) phones and some say Android operating system. What does that mean and what is better and the advantages of it?

Answer by Brian Pentium
Android is a smartphone mobile operating system, like iOS, BlackBerry OS, and webOS. It’s basically a very popular and powerful smartphone platform right now, and it is the #1 selling smartphone in the United States.
Basically the advantages of Android are that you can get apps from wherever you want, customize your interface however you want, use widgets (the little apps that run on your homescreen), multitask, and use Flash player on the internet.
Currently I believe that it’s superior to iOS, Blackberry OS, and webOS in terms of features. However, there is a learning curve.

In the future, is it possible to store information on a normal object (Eg. paper) using LED.?
Question by ikyikyhaha: In the future, is it possible to store information on a normal object (Eg. paper) using LED.?
In my science class my teacher brought up the possibility of, In the next 10 to 15 years, using organic LED to store information on an object like a sheet of paper. An example was for use as a newspaper. He said that you could potentially view video in a newspaper, and have every page of that newspaper stored in one sheet. Is this possible, and if so, how does it work. Please describe or give a link to a website that describes it.
An issue i couldn’t quite figure out is how you would get power to it.

I beileve this is already possible. I saw it on KFMB one time (TV Station) and it is possible to use organic LCD displays on a very thin plane. Of course it is not being distributed yet, but it in the processes. It works by arranging organic LCD cells (they are very small and thin) aligned with some pixels. The pixels will not have the clarity that we are used to, but it will be suitible enough. This is all information from my own self, and if any of it is wrong, I am sorry, but I hope I did my best!

Question by Dan: Can I use iPad with my normal home wireless network without a contract?
I have WiFi at home but have never owned an Apple product in my life. If I buy the 32 GB iPad with WiFi, can I just take it home and it will access my normal non-AT&T wifi? Would I need a contract or a data plan or is it like a laptop where I just connect via a wifi connection and that’s it?
