Yahoo! Mail adds Dropbox integration for simple sharing, end to attachment limits

Google, Amazon and Microsoft are lastly getting the syncing cloud storage space thing right. But, Dropbox is still the player to catch. While the rest are still working on really getting the desktop client stuff ironed out, the famous blue box is spreading its tentacles across the web. Today Yahoo! announced a collaboration that puts the lead-in storage space service right in your inbox. Yahoo! Mail is now tightly integrated with Dropbox, allowing you to share files directly from your folders online or conserve attachments to them. The tie-in comes courtesy of Dropbox Chooser, which also means an end to size limitations for email attachments. Anything over 25MB is shared with a Dropbox link, rather than directly affixed to your message. If you’re a Yahoo! user you need to see the brand-new choices in your inbox today.

NTT DoCoMo launches free Concier mail translation app for Android devices

Not content to simply dabble in double-sided transparent touchscreens, Japanese mobile provider NTT DoCoMo continues its efforts to break the language barrier — this time with a new Android app. “Mail Honyaku Concier” (honyaku means “translation” in Nihongo, while that last word is a play on “concierge”) is a free app that lets users translate text into different languages. The software is compatible with smartphones and tablets sporting Android 2.2 or higher and accepts both keyboard and voice input for text. As part of its translation, the app sends a copy of the source material in its original language — you know, just in case the thing does a Sheldon Cooper and coughs up “Oxen are in my bed.” In addition to working with NTT DoCoMo’s “sp Mode Mail” service, the software also plays nice with other apps. Languages supported so far are Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean. No word on whether “Engrish” will be added to that list as well.

Question by WB: Anyone having this same bug issue with Windows Phone 7 and Yahoo Mail?
If another Yahoo Mail user sends me a message with an attachment AND a stationery background, I cannot download the attachment through the Windows Phone 7 client. If they do not use a stationery background, I have not trouble downloading the attachment.
