Leaked images reveal two-tone monochrome Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
While we’ve seen the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 officially draped in white and leaked in a golden brown variation, Samsung may have also given it the two-tone treatment. Techtastic recently got some photos from Mr. Blurrycam showing the tablet with a black face that’s complimented by a white bezel and home button. Spec-wise it’s reported to sport the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1,200 x 800 pixel touchscreen we’ve handled before, but there’s no denying its penguin tuxedo looks are in a class of their own. We have our doubts as to whether this color combination will actually hit retail (is it merely a developmental prototype?), but don’t let that stop you from grabbing a better look at the source link.

iOS 7 gamepad leaked, features blurry Logitech G logo
Apple may consider the iPhone to be a gaming device, but even it’s willing to admit that traditional gaming demands a proper gamepad. The folks at Logitech apparently agree, and seem to be preparing to release an iPhone 5-compatible gamepad with its G-prefix branding. An image acquired by Kotaku shows four-button Logitech gamepad build around an iPhone shaped hole. A Lightning connector pokes at of the gap’s right side, indicating a hard-wired (or at least device powered) peripheral. According to Kotaku, this will be just one of several third-party gamepads designed for iOS 7′s Game Center overhaul, and Apple won’t be providing a first-party solution, either. The blurry image ought to be flavored with the standard amount sodium chloride, but we wouldn’t scoff at an officially supported gamepad solution.

Intel’s supposed ‘Obsidian’ UI for Tizen gets leaked, swiped and doubted
The pure version of Tizen 2.0 is far from finalized, yet there already seems to be an alternative skin designed to sit on top of it. While Intel’s chips are currently capable of powering the new open source OS, the chip company is reportedly working on its own overlaid UI, known as Obsidian. Ars Technica got its hands on two videos of it in action, featuring notably flat and square icons compared to the circular ones we’ve seen in the pure version. There’s a consistent bottom strip of three soft keys for calls, messaging and contacts, and a tilt action for icons and contacts when a notification in an app is received. According to Ars, Intel may also bring the aesthetic to Android, surprising as that may sound. You can get a detailed look at its present state at the source link, while we scratch our heads asking “really?” and “why?”

Leaked Windows Phone screenshots reveal notification center, UI changes, and more

Microsoft has previously admitted it “ran out of time” on a Windows Phone notification center, but it looks like the company is testing early future versions of Windows Phone with this feature in place. A Reddit user has posted a series of screenshots from a recently purchased Lumia 920 that appear to include an internal Windows Phone build. The software identifies itself as version 12084.WPMAIN(wpbldlab).20130509-1407, meaning it was compiled on May 9th. An early notification center can be seen in one of the screenshots, providing access to the typical Live Tile notifications.
There’s also a redesigned calendar interface with weekly views, and the ability sort applications by name and frequency in the app list. Microsoft appears to be…

Leaked court documents reveal NSA is collecting bulk call logs from Verizon
A court document published today by The Guardian reveals the NSA is currently collecting call records in bulk from Verizon. The request, granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25th, extends until July 19th and mandates Verizon produce all call detail records on a daily basis to the NSA. The data collected includes the numbers of both parties to a call, how long it lasted, location data, IMEI / IMSI numbers, but not the content of the call or identifying information about the customer. As the report indicates, security officials had revealed bulk collection of call records previously, but until now there has been no indication of it happening under the Obama administration. In 2006 Verizon Wireless was one of the few to state it had not turned over call records to the NSA, but that appears to have changed. Among the many things that are still unknown however, is whether this order is a one time event or one in a series of such requests collecting vast amounts of data on unsuspecting citizens, and whether other wireless providers have received orders to do the same.

HTC One ‘mini’ reportedly shown in leaked photos

Rumors of a smaller HTC One made the rounds earlier this month, but it looks like some pictures of the device have emerged. Estonian site Forte has published 13 images of what it describes as a “HTC One mini,” comparing the 4.3-inch device to the larger HTC One. The handset is rumored to include a 720p display with a dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Forte also claims the HTC One mini includes a 4-megapixel “UltraPixel” camera similar to the HTC One’s.
There’s no word on a launch date or availability, but previous rumors have suggested some type of announcement is due before the end of June. With a stock Android version of the HTC One arriving on June 26th, HTC might end the month with a smaller, more pocketable,…

ATIV Odyssey for US Cellular leaked in promo materials
US Cellular’s been promising a WP8 handset for quite some time now, and it looks like the company’s about to deliver exactly that. As you might recall, US Cellular’s last Windows Phone offering was the entry-level ZTE Render which ran WP7.5 (Tango). We recently obtained promo materials for an ATIV Odyssey with US Cellular branding. This Samsung device, which is currently available on Verizon, packs a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage (with microSD expansion), LTE and NFC support, plus a five-megapixel autofocus camera with flash. While none of this is official (yet), we fully expect US Cellular to make a proper announcement real soon now. Until then, check out the gallery below for some of the aforementioned promo material.

Leaked Scroogled video sees Microsoft parody Google’s Chrome ad

Microsoft and Google have been locked in a war of words over a YouTube Windows Phone app, but in the midst of the arguments a new Scroogled ad has emerged. Designed to be an internal-only video, a copy has somehow managed to find its way onto the web right in the middle of Google’s I/O developer conference.
Unlike Microsoft’s previous attempts, this directly parodies Google’s own Chrome ads with a bouncing ball tracking how Google allegedly targets you with ads. It’s identical to Google’s own Chrome “Now Everywhere” ad, set to the same music and style. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed to The Verge that the ad is genuine, stating it’s “an internal video that was leaked.”
While Google CEO Larry Page didn’t mention Microsoft’s…

Nokia Lumia 925 leaked in low-res press shot
If you’re looking for details, you might be disappointed. We don’t know much about the alleged Nokia Lumia 925 pictured above, other than its rumored codename: Catwalk. We probably don’t have too much longer to wait for a full spec list, however, with the company hosting a launch event in London tomorrow. The relatively low-resolution press shot posted by @evleaks on Twitter shows a Windows phone with styling typical of the Lumia series. There does seem to be a slight taper toward the face of the device and we can report the headphone jack appears to be on the top edge. Otherwise, we’re as in the dark as you are. But just stay patient — all will be revealed tomorrow.
