Sprint confirms its HD Voice is incompatible with the iPhone 5

The new, lighter iPhone 5 has a larger display, punchier processor, LTE and dual-band WiFi, but if you plan to choose one up for Sprint’s network, you cannot have it all. Service provider representative Michelle Leff Mermelstein informed Phone Scoop that its variation of HD Voice will certainly not work on Apple’s new wünderphone. While many carriers utilize WCDMA networks to achieve the greater interpretation, Sprint makes use of CDMA 1X Advanced, which sadly isn’t suitable with the handset. Recognizing the function will be missing prior to launch isn’t optimal, but when you’re calling your good friends to gloat about that day-one acquisition, a slight drop in clearness isn’t most likely to eradicate your geek buzz.

6.4 percent of most popular Windows Phone apps are incompatible with Tango devices

We’ve already seen several instances where low-memory Windows Phone devices like the Lumia 610, which has just 256MB of RAM, simply can’t run certain high-profile apps. But just how bad is the problem? AAWP crunched the numbers and found that of the 86,292 apps currently available in the Windows Phone Marketplace, only 1.6 percent aren’t compatible with 256MB phones — which is less than Microsoft’s claim of five percent. However, that number does increase a bit when you look at the more popular apps. Of the top 10,000 downloads in the UK, 4.6 percent are incompatible with low-memory devices, while 6.4 percent of the top 1,000 apps won’t work.
