According to an explanatory blog site post, the Pi runs a Perl script which frequently queries the video camera for pictures– when it locates new shots, it grabs them and moves them to the iPad’s Shuttersnitch application over the web.
In the video clip demonstration below, Hunt’s production uses an Ethernet hookup for net access, however affixing a Wi-Fi dongle shouldn’t present any sort of issues. Editorial: NBC’s Olympics and the steely grip of old media

Owners and stakeholders of Big Media have thick skins. So the persistent trending of # NBCFail, and the riotous reading that the tweet stream provides, is undoubtedly bouncing right off their leathery hides. For one thing, the complaints were undoubtedly anticipated. They are mainly the same criticisms NBC resisted in previous Olympics– over-curating, ill-placed commercials, tape problems, scandalously inane commentary, and a generally inferior Olympics demonstration compared with other nations. The unspoken shrugging answer, of course, is monetary. The lessons learned from that solution say things about just how gradually institutional power inches into the future, the impatience of the digital class, brand environment as a preeminent business battleground, and the ideology breakdown of the International Olympic Committee.

Sony NEX-F3 preview: entry-level APS-C shooter adds pop-up flash, comfy grip, and 1080p video for $599.99

Last month, we heard that Sony had a redesigned entry-level NEX camera on the way, and the leak was spot-on: today, the company’s introducing the NEX-F3. It’s a $ 599.99 interchangable lens shooter with a 16.1 megapixel APS-C sensor, the pop-up flash previously only available on the pricy NEX-7, a brand-new 180-degree tilting LCD screen for self-portraits, 1080p24 video recording, and plenty of internal upgrades. In other words, it’s a feature-packed replacement for the NEX-C3, which Sony is phasing out immediately.
We spent an afternoon shooting with the camera, and we discovered it’s actually far more akin to the excellent NEX-5N than its forebear, right down to the vertical power switch and sizable new grip. It doesn’t come with an…

Canon announces 5D Mark III accessories: Speedlite 600EX-RT, Wi-Fi file transmitter, battery grip, and more

To go along with the just-announced EOS 5D Mark III, Canon has introduced a new series of accessories that will be rolling out over the next few months. Most notable is probably Canon’s new flash, the Speedlite 600EX-RT. This $ 629.99 flash is Canon’s new top-of-the-line model and is the first Speedlite on the market with a built-in wireless radio transmitter, which eliminates the need for accessory radio units. The 600EX-RT can be used as a master unit and trigger up to 15 off-camera “slave” 600-EX-RTs, as long as they’re within 30 meters of the master unit.
The flash itself is more powerful than its predecessor (the 580EX II), as well — it now covers a zoom range of 20mm to 200mm, and has a guide number of 60 meters. To go along with…

iPhone Death Grip Tested on 7 New Handsets
During the iPhone 4 Antenna issue keynote, CEO Steve Jobs made it a point to emphasize that Apple was not the only handset manufacturer to have devices suffer from signal loss when held ‘incorrectly,’ which he demonstrated on some out of date hardware. (Blackberry Bold, Droid Eris, Samsung Omnia 2). We here at TechnoBuffalo decided to test his notion, and tested 7 of the most popular, current-gen phones on the market, which should give a nice sampling of what to expect when you go to your carriers shop to pick out your shiny new toy. In this round of death drip tests we tried: * iPhone 4 * EVO 4G * Droid X * iPhone 3GS * HTC Aria * Nexus One * Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) The results were surprising TechnoBuffalo: www.technobuffalo.com Follow me on twitter cuthut.com
