Osungo readies a garden of super-efficient Flower Power USB chargers (hands-on)
It’s normally hard to beautify a USB power charger, but Osungo gave us a pleasurable little treat at its CES booth. It prepares a Flower Power collection of wall adapters that are unabashedly cute and, more notably, could conserve as much as 95 percent of the energy that’s squandered when devices currently have a full cost. No, it’s not extremely advanced, but it does not have to be to do some good– and we’ll admit that the pseudo-organic cord wrap is a good touch. Variations are coming with both 1A of current for phones and 2.1 A for tablets, and we’re told they ought to be on sale in March. US-friendly adapters will cost about $ 25 to $ 30.

Using products like Miracle Grow on a vegetable garden, will it effect the veggies?
Question by : Making use of products like Miracle Grow on a veggie yard, will it effect the veggies?
I’m 21 years old and merely purchased a condominium with my boyfriend. With the warmer weather approaching I would truly like to obtain a couple of tomato plants outside on our porch. A previous question I asked led me to choose against a hanging tomato basket, but I’m still going to do one merely to expariment. I’ll probably do two plants in pots on the patio (very sunny) and one hanging (also extremely sunny in the spot where the hanging hooks are)
An answer to my previous question stated that I must make use of Miracle Grow (I forgot exactly what kind particularly) on the plants. But would that be “Ungreen”? Do plant meals like Miracle Grow damage the planet? And much more vital, one of the explanations I want to plant my own is so that I recognize exactly just what goes on them (natural) …
Are there any even more natural means that I can fertalize my plant (asside from any type of kind of animal poop. I just wont usage it) …
Additionally, if I purchase a tomato plant pre-grown (like when its an itty bitty infant) instead of expanding it from seeds, should I presume that its already been touched by pesticides? I’m intending on purchasing before it grows tomatos.
Greatest answer:
Solution by kenny is readywater, sunlight
and a little love

Insert Coin: Troller 1D, the transforming robot that won’t ruin your garden
In Insert Coin, we look at an exciting new tech project that requires funding before it can hit production. If you’d like to pitch a project, please send us a tip with “Insert Coin” as the subject line.
A crawling robot that, at the touch of a button, curls up into a wheel and rolls away sounds a bit Robots in Disguise, doesn’t it? Still, that’s what roboticist Toby Baumgartner needs your cold, hard cash to build. Troller 1D is the first prototype of the modular automaton that uses a series of servos to take it anywhere it needs to go — but it’s not ready yet. The project needs $ 2,600 to get better servos and add some WiFi and Accelerometer features that’ll get the ‘bot rolling without any assistance. Once perfected, you’ll be able to buy a kit with everything you need to build your own and terrify the local wildlife / your children.

HTC announces OpenSense SDK and HTCdev, offers paradise inside its walled garden

Peter Chou is sharing HTC’s graces at Uplinq 2011 with the announcement of OpenSense SDK, where the company hopes to recruit developers willing to create apps specifically for Sense 3.0. With help from the HTCdev community, software designers will receive tools to create a seamless experience between their applications and HTC’s user environment (while also rendering their apps incompatible with non-HTC handsets). Beneath the skin, developers will be provided access to proprietary APIs that support 3D displays and tablet pens — which could make quite the gaming session. There’s currently no release date for the SDK, but the company is already taking names for a summer launch. So, if you’re comfortable helping HTC build this barrier around Android’s “open” mantra, we imagine there’s some rather slick apps waiting to be given life. Jump the break for the accompanying PR.
[Thanks, Jonny and Eric]
