This is the custom engagement ring box made by TheModelMaker to look like the house from Pixar’s ‘Up’. It’s the perfect engagement ring box to say, “If you die on me, I will become a crotchety old man.” Reminds me of the time I asked a girlfriend to marry me with a Monsters, Inc. engagement ring box and she was all, “OMG, I love this movie!” then opened it up and saw the ring and was all, “OMG, I’m not ready for this, take it back, please — take it back.” Then I asked her sister and she said no too so I had no choice but to move to a cave in the mountains where I died from a broken heart the very next day. Jk jk, bear attack — apparently they don’t like sharing caves.

This is the Duck Hunt themed pinball machine made by the folks at Skit-B Pinball. The game was modded from an old Williams Valiant machine and has a screen in the backglass that plays Duck Hunt animations in response to playfield targets. That said, I’m a pinball wizard and could beat any of you at any game. That’s not me being conceited either, that’s just the God’s honest truth. Plus if you were about to beat me I’d unplug the machine and whip you with the cord.

Bing News for Windows 8 updated with custom RSS feeds, Bing Maps gets local search feature

Microsoft is releasing fresh Windows 8 app updates this week. News, Maps, Travel, Sport, and Finance are all being updated with new features. The News app now includes a customize option that lets users add their own RSS feeds to the top stories section of the app. A pin option is also included to place custom feeds on the Start Screen. Custom feeds are displayed in a similar format to other curated feeds within the app, but unoptimized feeds will open in a browser.

The Windows 8 Maps app, powered by Bing, has been updated to include an improved local search option. Categories, including restaurants, hotels, and hospitals, are all displayed as local search options when you search within the app. Options to track location automatically…

While the Chinese versions of the HTC One won’t be officially presented till April 24th, we’ve handled to get our hands on its cousin gadget: the 603e that sports a similar ear piece design as the One, but without the front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers. The retail name of this dual-SIM (WCDMA 900/2100 and GSM 900/1800/1900) gadget is actually E1, and HTC pitches it as a cost effective Android 4.1 (with Sense 4+) phone with a 2.1-megapixel f/2.0 large front-facing camera– most likely exact same to HTC One’s, evaluating by our own comparison– along with beautification features and the company’s much broadcast ImageChip technology. However the genuine selling point of the E1 is its job in HTC’s brand-new e-commerce method in China: while you can find one at an authorized HTC store, HTC’s Chinese “eShop” tosses in customized choices for the inbuilt storage (8 or 16GB), main camera (five or eight megapixels, both with only 720p video capture) and among the six body colors plus patterns. I have a HTC Surround windows phone and I’m wondering how i can download a custom ringtone to my phone. I downloaded a soundboard that said I could download as a ringtone but i can’t figure it out. Please help!

Red might be the limited edition color of choice for the BlackBerry Z10, but how would you feel about a blue one? That’s exactly what rapper (and avid BB10 fan) Lil ‘E has flourished to his Twitter followers. Looking just as bright as the developer-only red version, we can’t quite make out whether we’re dealing with an (admittedly eye-catching) customized handset or a special gift to one of the company’s biggest fans. We’ve reached out to BlackBerry to check, but until we hear back, there’s another fuzzy shot to ogle after the break.

Moniker Looks To Crowdfunding To Create A Custom Guitar Business

Austin-based Moniker Guitars is running a Kickstarter campaign to create a line of semi-hollow-body guitars for discerning git-fiddlists. The company will offer their first guitars for a $ 700 pledge, not bad for a hand-made guitar from rockabilly city.

The company is looking for $ 50,000 to start and they’ve just passed the $ 6,000 mark.

The company already customizes solid-body guitars and hopes that the fund will help them build a line of semi-hollow-body models.

“Through our online guitar configurator you can choose your guitar’s shape, paint colors and parts, as well as add custom text and graphics; all at the price of an off-the-shelf guitar,” write founders Kevin Tully and Dave Barry. Moniker began in Austin in 2012.

“The money we hope to raise will go towards the tools and equipment needed to efficiently manufacture these guitars at our shop in Austin,TX. An efficient manufacturing process means we’ll be able to create high quality, yet affordably priced, semi-hollow guitars. We also need help funding the materials needed to produce these guitars on a larger scale. These materials include wood, primer, sandpaper paint, clearcoat, guitar parts, etc.”

The luthiers do most of their work in Austin and for a pledge of $ 350 they’ll strip and repaint your current guitar with a new color. You can also get a White Stripes-esque red and white model for $ 900. $ 2,400 gets you a lesson in guitar-smithing with the guys at Moniker.

As it gets easier to make things overseas it’s refreshing to see these guys attempting to build a local company. Customization is a hard job and it makes sense to keep the gear, supplies, and workers close to the consumer.
