While we doubt Huawei or LG were singing “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date…” at MWC this year, in hindsight they likely would have enjoyed sharing what arguably became the biggest deal of this show. Unfortunately the two handsets we caught up with at Telefonica’s booth were behind glass and no amount of reason was going to see them sprung. Obviously the Huawei offering isn’t close to ready as it is running on an Android set, though, the LG while powered off certainly looked like a complete housing featuring the requisite home button. So it would seem Firefox OS has become a waiting game as we sit and tally what other manufacturers feel it’s safe to jump on board. Short gallery of the two devices under glass are just below.

Maker Camp brings DIY fun to teens via Google Hangouts

Summer camp doesn’t have to suggest badly ventilated cabins, boring activities and horrible food. In fact, placed the principle in the hands of Google and Make, and there’s not also a requirement to leave the comfort of your own residence. The 2 have teamed up to deliver Producer Camp on Google +, a 6 week summertime program produced to encourage children to embrace their inner producer. The sessions will run every weekday starting July 16th. On Mondays through Thursdays a brand-new set of directions for the teen individuals to tackle will certainly be uploaded on Google +, then, in the afternoon, a counselor (typically one of Make’s own editors) will hold a Hangout to talk about the project and let the campers share their pictures, videos and notions. Every Friday Make will certainly host “area vacations” using Hangouts. There’s no requirement to sign up and no cost, the only requirements are that you be between the ages of 13 and 18, and have a Google + account.
