Kia Creates Their Own Take On The Batmobile

kia-batmobile-1.jpg

Please inform me it includes that external presenter.

Evidently Kia and DC Comics have teamed up to create a line of one-of-a-kind Justice League themed vehicles, utilizing a different design for each character in the group. This is the Batman car right here, created making use of a Kia Optima SXL. Undoubtedly, it IS kind of slick looking, I’m just having a little difficulty thinking of Batman behind the wheel. Get it? Because I wager he constantly makes Robin drive. LOL, couples.

Hit the jump for a couple more tries.

From photos posted on the Tumbler Tour blog (hosted at, er, Tumblr) it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to ride in it or even touch it, but it might be as close as Bat-fans get to scratching their Dark Knight itch. Man Builds TURBINE-POWERED Batmobile

batmobile-lost-a-wheel.jpg

Casey Putsch built a Batmobile powered by a turbine engine from a naval helicopter (allegedly the only tubine-powered Batmobile to date so I don’t know what this is) because he’s a firm believer IN GOING BIG OR NOT GOING AT ALL. Hey, I’m with you bro. *finishing off second 20-piece nuggets of the day*

Under the long hood of Putsch’s Batmobile sits a Boeing turboshaft engine plucked from a naval drone helicopter. The power output is rated at 385 horses, which is good for a vehicle that weighs around 2,800 pounds.

Besides the engine upgrade, this Batmobile has an interior that would make Bruce Wayne nod approvingly. That’s all you can hope for really, since it’s impossible to make Mr. Wayne jealous. Putsch strapped an Apple iPad into the center stack of his super(hero)car, which then acts as his avionics system and also supplies GPS information

Now that’s what a call a Batgina mobile. Get it? Because I’m sure dude gets more Catwoman Ladycat with that thing than you could with a can of Fancy Feast. Which, if cooked just right, can be used to trick a roommate into eating it. You’re a real dick Derek, you know that?

Hit the jump for a couple more shots and a worthwhile video of the car being driven (it sounds exactly how you think).

Batman’s Stage Show Batmobile Revealed

batmobile-1.jpg

When I first read the article I thought this was the new Batmobile for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and was already composing a piece of hate-mail when I realized it’s just the Batmobile for the Batman Live World Arena Tour. Lemme tell ya — I was muy unhappyo there for a minuto. “GW, that’s not good Spanish.” Oh really? I took two years in high school, I think I’d know. Pinto.

Gordon Murray designed the Formula One cars that won six world championships, then he went on to create the incredible McLaren F1 supercar for the road. So when he was given the task of creating the latest Batmobile, he came up with a design that projects Formula One design elements as they might exist in 15-20 years, including what he calls “breathable” carbon fiber.

I have no idea what the hell “breathable” carbon fiber is, but if it’s anything like a “breathable” athletic sock, you can count me a fan. What?! I get swamp-foot easy! Also: colds, which is why I don’t shake hands. Kidding, I’ve just convinced myself the last thing a person’s done before shaking my hand is masturbate.

Hit the jump for four more of the questionableness.
