Motorola XT1058 for AT&T hits the FCC, could be XFON related
We’ve been waiting to see Motorola would produce now that it’s a part of Google, and one of its first phones to bring the stock Android 4.2 experience may have just been revealed in an FCC filing. The XT1058 sports AT&T compatible LTE bands and NFC, and its model number matches some of the rumors mentioned for phones codenamed Yeti, Ghost or Sasquatch. More concrete ties to the original X Phone rumors are pictures of an AT&T-bound “XFON” posted by @evleaks last week, and the XT912 Vietnamese site Vinhe.tn got its hands on in March. When will we find out what’s hiding behind door number 1? Google I/O is next week and seems (to us) like the perfect time for a big reveal, while we wait you can hit the source link to dig through the documents for any more information.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 now available online at Sprint, in stores today at AT&T
Samsung’s latest and greatest smartphone, the Galaxy S 4, is making a big move into the US today with an online arrival at Sprint and in-store availability at AT&T. If you’re a Now Network subscriber and happened to miss out on the carrier’s pre-order action, you might want to make some quick moves onto Sprint’s website in order to secure your new handset, which goes up for sale at midnight Central Time. In a not-so-cool move, however, only those porting their number to Sprint are eligible for the carrier’s $ 100 price break, which means all of you who’ve stuck through the dark days of EV-DO will need to pony up $ 249.99 for the Galaxy S 4. Meanwhile, if you’re aching to lay your hands on Samsung’s 1080p handset, you can finally get some gratification, as AT&T is now offering the smartphone for in-store purchase and play. Here, you’ll pay $ 199.99 for the handset, and while it’s potentially more expensive, at least AT&T’s pricing scheme doesn’t involve fine print shenanigans.

AT&T launches Digital Life home automation and security platform
It’s been a long time coming. Seriously. AT&T first teased us with Digital Life way back in February of last year. Now the home security and automation platform is finally ready for prime time. Starting today customers in the 15 launch markets (Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, LA, Miami, SF, Seattle, Austin, Philly, Riverside, St. Louis, Denver, Boulder and the New York/New Jersey metro area) can put in their orders, provided they live in a single-family, detached house. There will be two packages to choose from: Simple Security and Smart Security. The former is a pretty standard alarm system with sensors, an HSPA-based base station and a 24-hour backup battery, for $ 30 a month and a one-time installation fee of $ 150. Smart Security is where the real fun happens, though. The basic version starts at $ 40 a month, with a $ 250 installation fee, and includes your choice of three additional features including a motion sensor, carbon monoxide sensor, glass break sensor, smoke sensor or a takeover kit. From there you can add on additional packages, like energy management or a camera system, for between $ 5 and $ 10 a month, plus the cost of installation. Those costs can quickly add up too. Those two add-ons alone could push the price of installation as high as $ 650.
To go along with the launch AT&T is also releasing its remote control app, which will be available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and, “eventually,” BlackBerry. Through the app you can lock doors, adjust your thermostat, turn on and off lights or appliances and check your security cameras. The most powerful feature, though, is the ability to create programs that can automate tasks, send alerts and trigger events based on data from the sensors. For example, if the glass break sensor on the kitchen window is tripped, the system can be set to turn on the lights in the room and start recording a video. Eventually, AT&T even sees the ability to integrate with the location services on a cellphone for additional automation options. If you’re hankering for more details, check out the PR after the break.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 coming to AT&T stores April 27th, pre-orders arrive April 25th
Pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 have already begun at AT&T, but the operator has been oddly silent about the actual date customers can expect to purchase one in stores and online. Now that T-Mobile and Sprint have both announced specific launch dates (April 24th and 27th, respectively), the largest GSM carrier in the country has followed up by declaring its intent to sell the flagship Samsung device on the 27th of this month. This is four days earlier than the anticipated pre-order shipment date, which means the HTC One has merely a full week to bask in the spotlight by itself. What’s more, if you simply couldn’t wait and jumped on those pre-orders, you’ll get yours a full 48 hours early (read: April 25th). As expected, the GS 4 will be offered for $ 200 (16GB) and $ 250 (32GB) in both black and white.

Black HTC One peeks out of AT&T and Sprint web stores, promises to be available soon
Torn between getting an HTC One right now and waiting for that sleek black variant? We know the feeling, and the folks at Sprint and AT&T aren’t making it easier: both providers have tossed up a product page for the color. Unfortunately, a solid street date is nowhere to be seen — Sprint only promises that it’ll be available “soon.” The tease won’t make the wait any more bearable, but if you want to ogle that press image a bit more, check out the product pages at source.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 hits the FCC, sports AT&T compatible HSPA+
Samsung’s Galaxy Huge 6.3 still doesn’t have an exact launch date, however it has actually made its method to the FCC. While the Mega was revealed with LTE and HSPA+ radios, it appears that this version, model I9200, only has the latter onboard (I9205 is the LTE-equipped variation)– the Galaxy slightly-less Huge, it appears. It’s a winner that this specific model won’t formally make it stateside, but the reports appear to suggest that it’ll play good with AT&T’s HSPA+ bands. In case you’re thinking of importing this 1.7 Ghz device down the line, you can have an appearance at our hands-on right here. Otherwise, you can take a look at the declaring by visiting the source link.

HTC One for AT&T and Sprint: what’s different?
You ‘d think after publishing a 6,000-word testimonial, two hands-on posts and a camera explainer, we would have stated all there is to state about the HTC One. Not quite. Though the phone has actually been readily available in Germany for about a month now, it’s only simply arriving in other markets. The US version in certain will see synchronised launches on AT&T and Sprint, and T-Mobile soon to follow. The AT&T and Sprint variants will be readily available on April 19th, though you can pre-order either for $ 200 with a two-year agreement. By the by, while all three US carriers will provide a 32GB version, AT&T is also offering a $ 300 model with 64 gigs of inbuilt storage– an useful specification, provided that the phone has no microSD slot.
We have actually just finished taking the AT&T / Sprint models for a spin and, as you ‘d anticipate, we like them just as much as the international model. If you’re seriously thinking about getting one, we ‘d still refer you to our original testimonial for a detailed take on the design, camera efficiency and Sense 5 skin. When you’re done, though, you may desire also to fulfill us after the break: we’ve got benchmark ratings, network rates, battery life results and bloatware notifies that apply especially to those United States versions.

Samsung SGH-i337 hits FCC with AT&T LTE bands, fits the GS 4 profile

We have to be skeptical when new devices arrive at the FCC without photos or a blinking sign that says “I Am AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S 4.” But even doubters can connect the dots in this case and declare that a certain Samsung SGH-i337 that the FCC just waved through is likely that very model. Why? First off, it’s carrying a certain LTE band 17 used exclusively by AT&T in the US. Secondly, the dimensions line up perfectly with what we recently got our hands on at Samsung’s recent Galaxy S 4 phone-a-palooza. Finally, we already saw a device packing the same model number on UAProf, a normally reliable source that revealed a 1,080 x 1920 screen and “ARM11″ Exynos processor. Since it’s unlikely the carrier has another unannounced 1080p model coming from Samsung, those coveting an AT&T GS 4 can probably start warming up their wallets.

HTC One 64GB will arrive as AT&T exclusive (video)
Planning to snag that maxed out HTC One in the US? AT&T is where you’ll have to go, then. The 64GB variant of the device is an AT&T exclusive, as revealed by a recently uploaded video to the service provider’s YouTube channel. The 32GB One will also be on offer, though there’s no word on exactly how much either will be priced at or an exact arrival date — April is the most specific we’ve heard from HTC. Verizon is also expected to carry the device, of course, but AT&T will certainly be “the one” for folks needing that doubled storage space on a two-year agreement. Check out the video for yourself after the break.
