Sprint network outage leads to flight delays with Alaska Airlines

A network failure that leaves folks without information for a couple of hours is one thing, however some Sprint issues today are causing some larger problems than usual in one part of the US. Alaska Airlines is stating flight delays at numerous airports, consisting of Portland International Airport, as a result of the interruption that is says started at 7:30 AM Pacific time when a fiber cable television was cut in Wisconsin. The AP is further reporting that Alaska Airlines President and CEO Brad Tilden states the airline expects to have a full resolution by 5PM neighborhood time, and that it may have a partial solution by noon. The reports that we have actually received from Sprint individuals also recommend that the failure is greatly constrained to the Northwest.

I Could Watch This All Day (And Probably Will): LIVE Brown Bears Catching Salmon Cam From Alaska

This is the link to Explore.org’s LIVE ‘Brown Bear & Salmon Cam’ from Brook Falls in Alaska. I have actually been watching for virtually fifteen minutes now and I’ve already seen 2 effective sportfishing efforts. Plus a bird attempt to steal a fish from a bear. I thought the bear was gonna eat the too! ” Please, we’re civilized,” the bear resorted to the camera and said to me. “Jesus– exactly what the hell are you on, GW?” I dunno, but I’m liking it!
Note: My friend Terry stated he was having trouble loading the feed in Chrome, so I dunno, that may be a concern. Or he can merely be a spaz. I’m kidding, he’s most definitely a spaz, however Chrome might be a problem also.

The Engadget Show 34: LeVar Burton, weather balloons over Alaska, Northeastern University and ITP
This month’s program is all about understanding– but don’t worry, it’s a ton more enjoyable than it appears. We’ll be placing the “tainment” back in edutainment. Following up, Tim heads to Alaska to work with a group of specialists studying the northern lights with high-tech balloons and helmet cameras. We have actually also got class visits to Northeastern University, where students are creating technology for the betterment of humanity and NYU’s ITP school, where art and technology meet. ITP’s Danne Woo and Matt Richardson will definitely be showing of a few of the school’s projects, including the kinetically-powered Circuit Board, the Descriptive Camera and the condiment-extruding Burritob0t.
Then we’ll close things out with an interview from none besides LeVar Burton, who informs us about the rebirth of Reviewing Rainbow and just how Venture Glass and the iPad are making the actual world a bit more like Star Trek. Check into the complete episode after the break!

It’s hard to say if Alaska Airlines’ relationship with Row44 has fizzled, but unlike that WiFi’d route between San Jose and Seattle, the aforesaid airline is relying on Aircell to provide in-flight WiFi on flights between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Reportedly, Gogo service is live today for customers flying between those two locales, with it being completely gratis until the remainder of Aircell’s network in the state of Alaska goes live over the next few months. Best of all, Aircell has promised to “expand its network to include Southeast Alaska by the end of the year,” ensuring that it’s not The Last Frontier in absolutely every possible way.
