[support alert] Dell Studio 14z: Freezing

I've got a studio 14z with a core 2 duo 8600 and windows 7 x64. At the moment, it's unusably unstable.
At random intervals (averaging 1-2 minutes) all applications will freeze (mouse pointer still movable) and resume after roughly A FULL MINUTE. I've had many computers, and I've never experienced freezing this bad.
