Question by Otto: Strategy for running for VP of Robotics Team?
I am running for Vice President of my Robotics Team and have to make a speech. Basically my question is what the heck do you put in a robotics election speech? I was thinking about taking it really casual and rapping through it, but most of the kids on my team are serious nerds, so I’m not sure how well that would go through. Any help or ideas would be great.

First and foremost: rap can only conceivably look and sound good in the context for which it is intended which is a concert, a rap video, or a recording. Impromptu rap is asking your audience to suddenly suspend their perception of reality and enter your own world…which is never easy.
Second if it is a Robotics Team …you may want to talk about your ability to help them further their interests in Robotics.

Is your group affiliated with a national organization? If so, take a look at their mission statement and ask yourself if your group shares the same mission. If not, why not? If so, how? Will you try and uphold the same ideals?
In general, Club officers should
=ALWAYS be committed to show up to all meetings.
=Show a wiliness to work together with other officers
=Have a plan to increase membership
=Have a list of at least 3 things you would like your group to achieve (example, attend x amount of competitions, raise x amount of dollars, create website, search/publish available scholarships)
=Describe their talents and what their talents bring to the group.
