SSD prices plummeted by 48 percent over the past year

While traditional disk drive pricing continues to be inflated after last year’s Thai floods, the cost of SSDs proceeds to drop. The Tech Report took a look at the ordinary cost of a number of preferred solid state drives over the past year and charted the falling costs over a set of graphs.
The site discovered that the cost for drives from OCZ, Corsair, and Crucial have fallen drastically over the past year, with the larger 240GB / 256GB designs dropping by over 50 percent in many instances. Samsung’s 830 Set SSDs started at a lesser price than the others, but have settled into a comparable rate selection today.
