MXR Micro Flanger Reissue Pedal Demo

www.ToneFactor.com – Based on the benchmark sounds of the MXR M117 Flanger, the MXR Micro Flanger guitar pedal features many of the same flanging effects of its big brother, but in a smaller and more convenient size. Originally released in the ’80s, this faithful recreation features the same 2 critical controls—a Speed knob to control the rate of cycling, and a Regeneration knob to manage the overall intensity—and stays true to its 100% analog bucket brigade technology for the ultimate in warm and organic tone. The MXR Micro Flanger pedal has been updated with a true bypass switch so you don’t lose any tone during bypass. Go from jet plane like sweeps to cool outer space type effects with the MXR Micro Flanger guitar effect pedal. The MXR Micro Flanger pedal can be powered by one 9V battery (accessed by removing the effect pedal’s bottom plate), a Dunlop DC810DC brick, or MC403 Power system (sold separately). Features: True bypass with LED Rate knob Regeneration knob Footswitch for on/bypass All-analog circuitry with bucket brigade technology for warm analog tone

What are the two songs you play from 0:00-1:15? Thanks.
UPDATE: I got this pedal last month and it’s truly amazing! If I had only one complaint, it would be that even at the slowest rate, it’s still not slow enough for songs that have a really slow jet whoosh sweep. That aside, it’s still awesome and has now taken it’s rightful place on my pedal board. And it whoops the Boss BF-3′s ass for sure!
Awesome playing! I loved your subtitles on Piece of Mind because that’s exactly what I was thinking: “Holy shit, was there a flanger on that song ” lol. Great pedal, I’m getting this one right away because my Boss BF3-3 is a tone killer.
this is overkill
What was that first tune?
@MultiScoffer Luckily Im a HUGE Isleys fan. To the best of my knowledge, there wasn’t any flange on the specific song youre talking about. If there was, I just cant seem to make it out through all the wah-wah work Ernie used. Ernie is known to more commonly use a phaser (“That Lady” etc) than a Flanger but im sure almost any Flange with a decent range would do what your looking for and the Micro flange would be one for sure. Hope this helps.
@Noahshollow Yes, any big whoosh/jet plane sound, this pedal delivers.
@Bluplirst lol, yeah I know. Had to do some VH in the vid and its the first tune that popped in my head so I just had to indulge.
nice playing – I love add9 chords
You’re a great player with a good sense of humour! Like you’re review very much! And this little beast sounds awesome! I’ve just ordered it yesterday, can’t wait to get it in my hands and onto my board… I’ll put it in my fx loop right after my delay and before my little alligator.
can you make that jet plane sound with that thing?
I’m seriously thinking about getting this flange. But I need a flange that’s going to give the effect that I heard on the song “Hope You Feel Better Love” By the Isley Brothers. I just know that there is somebody out there in youtube land that can help. Maybe even ToneFactor can help. Help, please!
@ToneFactor I would have recognized it! I only have the first two so far, but they kick major booty. The lead tones are just sickeningly good.
@mmaier2112 lol…thanks man. I really wanted to do “Something About You” from their debut but I didnt think anyone would recognize it.
@warioblast that would be “Peace of Mind” by Boston
A simple and beautiful pedal. I wish all my pedals were this easy to dial in.
No flanging on Boston, it’s just fine the way it is.
But excellent demo, sir!
What song are you referring to @ 4:23 ?
I’m glad that there was some Van Halen played cos I was looking at this for the solo tone
cheers
Sounds cool, but I like my vintage Deluxe Electric Mistress more, because the MXR is not as versatile in my opinion, sounds great though! And a cool demo:-)
@Nocaster7 Thanks! This is our new guy, Zach, He’s been doing a great job.
Yet another great demo Brad. I am very impressed by the sound of this one as well as the Micro Chorus!
Great playing! I´m not a effects guy but I really dig this MXR classics!
