Lightsaber Controlled with Your Hands in Star Wars Kinect (Natal) for Xbox 360
At 1:11: A portion of gameplay from Star Wars Kinect was demonstrated live with the player / Cirque-du-Soleil performer controlling a lightsaber using just his hands in the classic “I’m Luke Skywalker” pose from your childhood to take on Darth Vader in a duel! looks lame
@drvader5000 ya, if you’re a fucking fat kid.
Geez imagine Battlefield or Call of Duty using KINECT!
The guy acting to play star wars made the star wars game a fail cuz he wasnt conrtolling the game the game was controlling him! Kinect makes you look stupid playing. i will never buy it for my 360, plus i can already video chat with my PS3, but who the fuck would want to video chat with Hardcore gamers!
Kind of funny when people do absolutely no research before they start spewing hate toward this. All they do is watch one video then come up with their own half assed conclusion. Also, why do xbox 360 videos seem to be raided by ps3 fanboys all the time anyway? Makes no sense. Anyway i’ll judge this when it actually comes out. So far i’m kind of stoked for it because this seems like a good product to play games with my kids. Don’t worry there alwaysbe hardcore controller games.
‘being xbox and microsoft it can only go up”?….Really?……
@DR0Z4RT You know it’s still a prototype?
im so happy we dont just wiggle our hands like in wii we actually swing the saber
im going to try and be the best jedi or the best sith lord for online it would be cool if you can use force jump
@jmancope
But the jedi raises his lightsaber before the dude even moves. There was absolutely no input to make that happen.
@DR0Z4RT Its called pre rendered motion. Know your stuff before acussing it of being fake hater. Cant be completley free-range motion any system out right now would over load in five seconds trying to generate graphics on the spot like that. FAG. lol. does look pretty retarded to some degree though
if you want fun with a light sabre get sony,s move controller,you can move you man forward backwards left right not like this scripted shit.you can sway side to side thats it,lets not entertain ms on this crap,the new 360 that looks good but lets be honest this has fail written all over it.if casuals become bigger than core gamers theres no more gears, killzones etc for sure.
I don’t see this working for fighting games, RPGs, or FPS all would seem to be difficult to do. For those games, you’re still going to need a controller
Funny how all this fatso-I’m-videogames-king geeks started crying about how hard it’s gonna be playing Kinect
@techSage
LOL
I should have done that too! But still, unless the ceiling was very high, I would still hit the fan if I jumped. I´m 6´2 and I have quite a powerful jump!!
@techSage Yeah i hope so. You know, games like metroid prime 3 and mario galaxy can only be played with Wiimote (+ nunchuk), so i still need to make some movements with my arms, and point the wiimote to the screen. The truth is, i stopped playing after a while, because when i had some free time, i was somewhat tired and moving my arms or whatever was making me more tired… Probably M$’ll use kinectic on games like fable and Forza, i just hope that they don’t replace the controller.
@drvader5000 I think people will build up more stamina the more they play if the game is fun enough to get them to keep playing, and it looks like a lot of the games will be good enough for that. They are more social, party games that you play with friends.
@drvader5000 Sometimes you have to let go of worrying what you look like a little to have fun.
@sokhunsak I think they are smart not to get into hardcore games at this point. Look at what has been successful so far in motion controlled games: Wii. Not serious games, right? That’s not saying it won’t happen eventually, but their goal right now is to appeal to people who don’t play hardcore games so that they have a bigger audience.
@DR0Z4RT It’s just a performance, they weren’t claiming to be playing it then, just making a show out of the experience.
@naal13 That’s funny. Games like Rock Band and knowing this was coming are part of the reason I moved to a home instead of an apartment.
@Mog087 It’s a performance -they weren’t trying to pretend that they were playing it at the time, just putting on a show for entertainment and PR.
@Soulrider77 @Soulrider77 9000 what? I don’t even think this was really played live – I think it was pantomimed playing in synch with the video for this performance. Watch some of the actual demos and you’ll see that there’s very little lag now.
@ophir314 Easy, easy. Controllerless just refers to the games that work with Kinect. They have no plans to eliminate the controller for core gamers.
“controllerless, welcome to the future”. Bullshit, if microsoft REPLACE their controller for kinect, many people will stop play their games. Sometimes we like to sit on the couch and move JUST OUR FINGERS. Hopefully microsoft won’t commit this mistake =P.
