Japanese Robots: Toyota Partner Robot and Honda Asimo

This footage was shot at the 2008 Japan! Culture + Hyperculture Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. It includes a demostration of two life-sized robots. The Toyota Partner Robot is a trumpet player who plays three songs. I didn’t recognize the first tune. The second tune is a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” The third tune is a medley of the following Disney songs: “Hi Ho”, “Whistle While You Work”, “When You Wish Upon a Star”, and “The Mickey Mouse Club March”. The second robot in this clip is the Honda Asimo, who can walk, talk, run, and even walk up and down a flight of steps.

You know what I realized…Asimo looks like a space man! whooo! And he can walk up some stairs! OH YEAH!!
asimo doesnt talk like that… and in other videos, that version of asimo doesnt even talk. however, there is one that does talk and recognizes objects, saying the name he learnt with it.
@emorjon2 Well would you be impressed if a robot just played a sound? It’s much more difficult to create the sound using the instrument.
Mother will tell you how things can be good naneedj.info
さすがはトヨタ、パクリがお上手!
Great TOYOTA! Loves chasing after.
(They just create copied, Always.)
that sound just comes out of his stomage….how lame
its good
The first tune is “Dominique,” which was a HUGE hit for Soeur Sourire, otherwise known as “The Singing Nun,” way back in the 60s.
why did they make a robot that can blow in a trumpet when all they need is to programming a trumpet sound in the robot?
Asimo is way better than this
It might be just sounds in the robot. to prove it it is blowing put your hand over the front of the trumpet and if there is air coming out,it is blowing.
@superskiez Heheh that’s what she said…. wait..
maybe the you could fill that with bombs and put in iraq for military porpuses!
they should teach that thing how to play the cantina song from star wars. it would be perfect!
fuk that thing is a better dancer than me…
Do they have an estimate of how much time we have left before it goes haywire and kills us all?
In 20 years OR LESS, Asimos’ foot print may be Mankinds first step on Mars.
Just a thought.
Ok, that’s pretty cool.
But, can it blow an A to the Bar..
Just kiddding, that was GRRRREEEEAAAATTTE!!!
Wake up
ASIMO vs TOYOTA PARTNER = awesomeness
She’s talking abuot Asimo like she isn’t even there, how rude.
@superskiez Atleast remark on the amazing technological advancement, stepping back into the age of cavemen doesn’t make humanity look very good.
asimo es la ley…
the japanese also built gundams in secret behind the robots.. so if they robots would take over we got the japanese will stop them with the gundams rofl
