I’m going to be taking up Robotics at my local university, I know you’re going to have a electronics class also.

The problem is that you never know what’s going to turn out to be useful. The only safe answer is “as much as you can handle”, particularly in physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematics. Please note – I’m not saying that you have to be a genius in any of these fields to study or make a contribution in robotics. I’m simply saying that the more you know, the more likely that you’ll find something useful in another field.
