Is it possible to get a PhD in robotics and theoretical physics at the same time?
Question by worried person: Is it possible to get a PhD in robotics and theoretical physics at the same time?
So I study both simultaneously?
Response to first post:
I want do do it because I don’t want to be old by the time I finish university.

Entirely possible -in fact advance Robotics require strong physics & mathematics. When designing complex robotic system – you will take help of Physics and Mathematics extensviely.
For example, consider a Humnoid Robot like Honda Asimo, you will be required to study all the flexible joints of mechanical arm in conjunction with human arm movement. You will use Forward & Inverse kinematics to study the positional behaviour model, then study Jacobians, Euler angles for Dynamics of the plant. This means you will be using physics and mathematics to study these fields. This is the theoretical study – Now consider you wish to build the actual prototype – for that you will use your Robotic control skills, mechanical engineering and electronics.
Then there is ODE for Robotics. Check this link and see how complex physics model is of Robotic Finger:

Moral of the story is that you need to be an expert physicist – if you wish to desing complex robots like Humanoids.
Have you heard of Snake Robots? They have 100′s of links – that link analysis model is developed using physics/maths again.
