Question by oil_tycooon: I want to be in the robotics industry but what major would be better? ?
mechanical engineer or electrical engineer? I am currently a ME major and have a 4.0 gpa in science. When i get out of the army in 1 year and 5 months i will go to school full time. I also thought about ME with a minor in computer science to learn C++ and C#. Any input would be great.

it depends on what you mean by “robotics”… do you want to build robots, design them, program them??? i am double (possibly more) majoring in Mech + Elec engineering, but neither are really concerned with robotics necessarily, you need to figure out more specifically you want to do with robotics and go from there, remember that you can double major as well, for 2 degrees in similar fields it can be as little as only 1 extra year

Go with the ME and minor in Computer Science. You can always go back for another minor in EE, or let the Sparkys do the electrical work. As it is, you’ll have the mechanical and computer control end handled. The electrical part is kind of rudimentary.
