Robotic like machinery, has already been replacing jobs for years. Every job we have, could easily become completely automated. It’s a realistic possibility that we can make things, that will unmake us.

More than likely, I can see people becoming very lazy….. look in your local department or grocery store, there are people who are capable of walking yet refuse to. Robotics will take over us if we continue to allow it to rule over our lives at this point.
1 We are busily building the a repository of all the information in the world: the Internet
2 Scientists are starting to design computers that can read and understand the information on the Internet (Watson, for example)
3 Scientists are building computers with ever more powerful artificial intelligence
4 Eventually, AIs will become sentient
5 Roboticists are creating Robots that are hard to distinguish from humans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q4qwLknKag&NR=1)
6 We will be enslaved by our own creations
