Homemade VR PC Game Gun

Maybe this will be the next guy the Microsoft hires since the Wiimote guy just got snatched up. This gun was apparently built using a cheap Gyration Air Mouse from Walmart, medium sized LCD, and some motion sensing.
Pretty friggen bad ass if I do say so myself. Where do these people come up with this stuff?

This costs about 500$ USD, but there is a program for tracking a laser thru a webcam that would work. I’m gonna use that instead. An old SNES controller hacked for USB, a laser on one end, hacked on, and a momentary off switch for the trigger. frys.com radioshack and toysrus all have the various components. FYI, Petco has the cheapest laser.
