Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection will certainly arrive on shelves October 2nd, and pack eight traditional horror movies, all restored so they can easily be seen in the greatest quality possible. Amongst the releases is Creature from the Black Lagoon repaired for Blu-ray 3D (yes, like Dial M for Murder it was initially shot and released in 3D back in 1954), as well as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Bride-to-be of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man and Phantom of the Opera. This is all a part of the continuous Universal centennial commemoration that’s seeing its vaults unleash several of our faves for the first time in high meaning. After the break you can look at a featurette detailing the procedure undertaken to prep Dracula for Blu-ray release, along with a press release with information on all of the flicks and which extras are included for each flick. Of course, the disadvantage of a pack like this is that it’s costly– the MSRP is $ 160, however it’s offered for preorder on Amazon presently priced at $ 112.
