For whatever reason, the Nexus 7 tablet is without a rear-facing camera. This makes Google ’ s tablet incompatible with several Android video camera apps featuring Instagram, a fact Asus just recently affirmed to The Inquirer. According to Tim Smalley, digital marketing business manager at Asus, Google Play will definitely throw an error if a manager tries to include the application to their Nexus 7.

This shouldn ’ t come as much of a surprise. The Nexus 7 only features a front-facing 1.2 MP camera equipment largely made for online video chatting and not taking images. The rear experiencing camera was undoubtedly axed as a cost-cutting measure. After all the Nexus 7 is just $ 200 but still takes care of to sport a Tegra 3 SoC and a 7-inch screen with an impressive 1280 x 800 resolution.

There ’ s most likely a disagreement to be made that Instagram can default to the front-facing camera equipment. But then once more, this incompatibility is most likely best for the human race. Taking pictures with tablets is dumb.
