That dance central game looks so amazing, and I wanted to get an xbox just for that game. But a couple people have told me that the kinect doesnt work all that great, and the dance game doesnt accurately record your movements, if at all. Is this true, or did they just have bad luck>?

I personally hated it. I’m not a skilled dancer whatsoever so the game for me was more for recreation which turned out to be wayyyy different. It does catch your movement well but the moves are so detailed and fast (even in the breakdown portion that you can select) and unless your doing it perfectly from your head to your toes you can’t move on with the game and when you finally do its super fast and hard to follow and just annoying. Just Dance 2 is wayyy more fun (its for the wii though).

i bought it for my son for christmas and he has a ball with it! he gets frustrated from time to time but that’s normal with any game. you gotta expect some margin or error in a game with full body detection. if you already have a kinect, which is required, try to rent it first or buy a used copy. that way you can take it back if you don’t like it.
There is a special spot in my heart for Dance Central. That game is my life. I love that game! its full body detecting, and has walkthroughs for every song. It slips up every now and then, but its usually spot on. Despite lacking a story line, the game has over 30 songs that are equally as fun. The game is A BLAST at parties with friends or family. Stage fright goes away after the first few minutes, I promise.

The Kinect is new technology, anyway for the dancing is working better than wii.
