I really need a $2500, 11″ TV for my bathtub.
$24.99, awesome! I am going to buy one right now–Oh….wait…..
$2,499. For a 11-inch TV. That isn’t even HD (not like it matters at 11 inches).
It’s official folks: Only rich folk and the criminally insane will be buying this one.
However, maybe in three or five years, OLED will come down in price enough for the non-existent middle class and growing lower class to maybe buy them.
SONY is about to release new one. Over 40inches.
If you got like 12 of those you could build a larg tv from them and have lite a 60 inch OLED TV =)
I don’t think the chick is sold
I’ve heard wonderful things about this TV, and this is not a criticism… But it bears pointing out that the XEL-1 is not Hi-Def!
you people giving bad criticism are dumb this is relatively new, i still say its a prototype, compared to all the other technology you’re comparing it with. wait a while and you’ll see what tv the cool kid on the block will be toting.
obviously you’ve never seen one in real life. The image is spectacular, you would stare at one for hours with your mouth open.
that shit needs to come in a bigger size tv
All that contrast ratio and it doesn’t even support 1600p. Bunch of crap. Also since when does anybody really need a TV that thin? Sharp’s 20mm thin LCD TV should be thin enough. One more thing, my 24″ Gateway monitor would laugh at the site of this TV as my desktop monitor.
OLED displays now have a lifetime as good as LCD and Plasma so it’s around 60’000 ( 62’500 precisely for this model ) it’s about 7 1/2 years watching TV continuously.
Organic Light Emiting Diod displays are good power efficient but they[organic materials] have a lifetime especially red green and blue materials/molecules….the good news is that the future is going to be cool can u imagine flexible/transparent displays even clothes
Yeah Organic colors but the only bad thing is that they have a short lifetime
Errr.. he did say $2499? did he not? Hey thats cool and all but at $2499 for only 11 inches of screen you got to be kidding right???? It makes me laugh when the Sony assistant “tony” says that the 11″ retails at $2499!! – without laughing!! you can buy a 1080p 58 inch lcd for that.. too expensive for a screen the size of something alittle bigger than a mobile phone screen!!!
