Birds with cameras take flight in ‘Winged Planet,’ tonight on the Discovery Channel

The current entry in the critically-acclaimed World series from the Discovery Network and the BBC airs tonight at 8:00 PM ET. “Winged Planet”– like “Blue Planet” and “World Earth” before it– is a nature documentary that uses state-of-the-art technology to catch absolutely fantastic footage. What makes “Winged Planet” extremely special is the usage of custom cameras that have been affixed to birds, along with remote-controlled avian reproductions that can travel among the high-flying animals.
