Bioware artist builds stunning replica of Obi-Wan’s lightsaber

Brad Lewis is a senior visual-effects musician at Bioware, where he spends much of his time working on Star Wars: The Old Republic. He’s even the guy behind Slothfurnace, a weblog committed to Lewis’ other pastime– structure incredibly in-depth lightsaber replicas. His newest project is a reproduction of the lightsaber Obi-Wan Kenobi flourished in Star Wars: A New Hope, a daunting venture he explained in a current interview with CNET.
Lewis’ latest style, imagined above, is really a more complicated iteration of a saber he created earlier. Unlike its precursor, this lightsaber is a “disclose” or detachable-blade variation– something that’s posed a major obstacle to Lewis ever since he began constructing style sabers years ago.
