Why is the upcoming Porsche Panamera classified as a sedan?

Question by J J: Why is the upcoming Porsche Panamera classified as a sedan?
every time i see the Panamera it looks as if has a 5th door. The body shape suggests hatchback to me. However every time it is mentioned it is called a sedan?
i understand it has foor doors but it very clearly looks like a hatchback
the Audi A4 wagon has four doors and back seat

    it’s a 4-door. hence, it’s a sedan.

    A sedan is an automobile with a back seat and four doors. That is the body style of the Porsche Panamera. The fact that the rear opens the way it does is irrelevant. Think “928″. No one ever called IT a hatchback!!

    Because it has 4 doors.
    And the back looks like a hatch, but it is not.

    A hatchback is when the back window opens with the trunk.

    The Window does not open with the trunk in the Panamera.
